  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

So I have this really close friend that knows a lot about my suicidal thoughts and actions. The only problem is, the discussion of those things makes them get in that state of mind, which they have been trying to escape for about 3 years now. I really don't want anything to happen to them, but they are also the only other person that knows about my suicidal tendencies aside from me. So I need someone to talk to, and really just to be friends with to make my time here worthwhile. But I don't want them to follow my path, I just don't know what to do, because they also get very worried about me.

I'm sorry you're here... but your thoughts and desire to be heard is very valid. I think we all need that - and that's why this site is so important.

It's not just resources for those looking to transition either through recovery or finality, but it's a community of like minded people that understand, because we're there too for whatever reason.

I think it's commendable that you are hesitant to talk with your friend, and that you care enough about them to not want to reopen their hurt. That's caring and kind of you, it says a lot about you.

If therapy isn't an option for you to talk about what's driving you to these thoughts, then connecting with others on this site might offer you the outlet you seek. I've found most everyone here to be kind and supportive in my interactions, and that's helped keep me going these past 18 months.

You're not alone. You don't have to be. Discussing what is a difficult topic with others is hard, as most people can't process the thoughts we share.

But people here can and do.
We're a community. And you're part of it.
