Oh god he's banned! Please he was just a dumb newcomer who didn't know the rules... Why they protect us from being taken down... I was so scared when ss was offline... I understand... But it's so sad...

Even if he wasn't a scammer, telling someone what SN stands for i.e. providing factual information, isn't against the rules, and is very different to luring people to a park to give out 'Free Nembutal' handouts. He happened to be a scammer but he could have also easily been LE or a predator.

Honestly. This is exhausting and I have little patience left for people who believe such bullshit and fall for it.
I've been spending a LOT of time on here trying to warn people of scammers in the past few weeks.

I feel like, at this point, the new members need to be sent an automated mass DM to inform them about things like the basics of internet safety, N scams, and not to post photos revealing SN sources or other sensitive information on the forum. When it's obvious that new members are naive this is only going to attract more scammers and predators to the site.

Have you not seen any of them?

These people start out by being all kind and friendly and sincere. They start a friendly conversation by DM. Eventually they will either send you a fake email as "source" for whatever you are looking for, a phishing link you are supposed to click or they will simply lie to you by making promises like this.

These kind of posts are very clearly against forum rules.
Offering access to a suicide method - even if free - is nothing but enabling and encouraging others to CTB.

PLEASE don't give your email to people on here.
Make a new email through proton mail or such that you solely use for SaSu if you must.
The safest way is not to communicate with others through channels that are NOT the forum.

In short: this person sent a fake email to others by DM (and then later through other channels, like email or telegram) claiming it was D's new contact email. They copied exactly the same text that D would use, pretending to be D and then proceeded to take money from people who thought they were corresponding with D to buy N.

It was a hunch, I wasn't certain who they were, but it seemed likely it was the same guy (I remember wondering if @Shu would recognize their posting). I was more certain that new guy or not they were a scammer. Someone had been banned recently for N-scamming, so I had been expecting someone to turn up again soon. When they did, and the story looked very contrived, it was an easy early report. There were 3-4 other indicators too, but they can come back and read this post so I don't want to learn everything. I remembered one of them that I think Dot or Shu had mentioned about the scammer before.

The main thing, just mentally dissect someone's story if they turn up here offering N. Or just ignore them completely.

Thank you for the advice & mail service. I trust most of them... But I admit that in my panic I gave it to 2 people I just met I'm not the sharpest chopstick. It took me way too long to notice that my offline friend was a narc bullying me... She fucked me up bad... I don't notice when I hurt people too, so please let me know so I can apologize.

The pm idea is great. I don't have the courage to read all the sticky threads... A safety tip one would be neat.

You wouldn't have been able to distinguish the fake emails from the scammer from the "real" emails though.
He simply copied exactly the same wording and phrases from what D used to write/reply to people.

But it's also a playground for very disturbed, sick a$$holes.

I personally don't know what DD is, but its talked about enough that I think it's real. IC is 100% real.

Quick google gave me the site for DD. It does look cheaper but I don't think it ships to my country.

When you spend a bit of time on here as I do you get to notice patterns.

A lot of us panic when the site is down. But it happens every now and again with a lot of sites. I've seen it a few times on here now and the site has always come back.

If you enable emails from SaSu you'll get a message if there's a longer term technical problem. I got an email a while back when we all had to log into a different site for a while. As @wljourney suggested I use a protonmail account even for this. I never give my email to other members.

You can see patterns with scammers. They say how desperate they are. They ask about sources. Then they say they've found a new source. They target newer members and PM them.

As has been said on here loads of times anyone offering N at the moment is a scammer.

Apart from scammers you can also see which members are flying close to the wind with their comments and aren't very nice and it doesn't come as a surprise when they get banned.

I was born into a situation of extreme violence and personal danger and lived that for years. I have a sixth sense of danger and can tell when people aren't legit. I'm hypervigilant and just know who isn't right without thinking.

Thank you I will. It hurts to be accused of abuse when being a victim though... I'm so scared to unleash murderous rage at a kind person out if traumatized paranoia that I let people abuse me until I break. I'm working on it. Thanks for the tips!

I actually wondered if he looked in asia by using a proxy. But it's usually asians who get censored sites & need proxy? Meh I trust our admin.

I was going to report this, since someone just messaged me asking about this person (off-site) before I saw this thread, and I already reported their previous post. I see they've already been banned, I figured as much.

For everyone that wasn't aware this person was a scammer in advance, please look at their post history. There are indications its a scam, you just need to recognize what they look like. Anyone who knows the signs could predict that he would be offering "free N" in the near future. In any case, this would expose legally you as being an accessory to crime anyway.

There's no such thing as "free N". Be aware that since D's departure, every person that crops up offering or suddenly having a new source of N is 100% a scammer.

Okay his English is too bad for British not judging but that's also a fallacy and I am not even English or English speaker but look at that and maybe he wouldn't scam but play with people call them to the city and waste their time. That doesn't do much but it does because they may have some resentment towards the community because they were banned for scamming? - sharing real names and locations from where they would travel, phone numbers to connect when meeting locally
- once he has that info, he can find you on other sites (Facebook etc) and blackmail you for money by threatening to contact your friends/family/employer etc.
- or simply send you a link with malware that will read your personal info/banking details etc.

Most of us don't have the technological knowhow to imagine these things.
99% also don't have the criminal mind to imagine what could be done with the info and how it can be exploited.

100% agree thankfully I know I can't even afford N and the other things else their post got so much attention. I had nothing to do with pming them or interested in N but I even wished him thinking do whatever you want and I also commented think about the consequences and then do something, you would want to be familiar with laws that's it and he didn't reply back. Was trying the whole time to build reputation. This is really bad to do with people who are vulnerable and suffering. It's bad that they can potentially threaten telling someone's family. It didn't even come to my mind and it really can happen then and yeah they can send malware and even simple apps like keylogger then do transactions on your behalf. The world is cruel and if some people are good and atleast live with rules it doesn't mean everyone will refrain from exploiting the people in their worst phase. You guys better know there even are apps that create the log of keys pressed on your device and from there they can see the patterns. Anything repeated mean personal info and they can use it somehow so we can try to take everyone who offers anything as a scammer that would actually be safe even if we miss out on N or whatever unless it's from a reliable source because this is getting real bad.

Yeah I can say some of you people know and have been here for longer and I heard of that whole case and some of us are really vulnerable so 1-2 people get scammed everytime it's really bad I thank you guys and wljourney for for making people aware of it. how people come back again and again. Then scroll down the list until you get to email options and click on receive news and update emails. I only had one email in the year I've been here but at least you know you're covered if anything happens.
