just out of curiosity:
those who plan to CTB and have pets—what do you plan to do with them?

Cat here. I will find him a good home. I should never have taken him but I've taken good care of him for a year and my former friend was mistreating him.

I've got 2 cats from a charity. If I CTB they'd go back to the charity who would find another loving home for them.

the rest of my family will take care of the cat. he did miss me when i got hospitalized last year, but i think he'll get over it.

3 cats here, my family will take care of them. one of them, whos particularly infatuated with me, is going to miss me a lot. but i hope she can adapt.

Incase you're worried about the immediate.

Like I told someone else. Have your phone charged and set a "send later" message to someone you know, explain the situation, how to get in etc. Just make sure you turn it off if your SI kicks in or that's gonna be awkward

Im sorry if this comes across as strange, but I just wanted to say that I think this is such a kind and caring sentiment and it's very similar to how I feel regarding my pets
Even when your own life is so fucked, you still care about the wellbeing of your animals and I just wanted to tell you that I think that's such a sweet mindset and I guarantee your pet loves the hell outta you :,) again, sorry if thats weird! I just think it's really sweet

This is not weird at all kind internet stranger.
I feel a lot more empathy toward animals that are victim of what humans did to the planet.
I love animals, and having the means to help well, i do it.
Also i love my cat and he really loves me too (no kidding) so it's not a wasted effort at all. Idk if sharing picture would be okay on this thread.
