For SN, why not just follow online tutorials on how to make it?

I'm confused, couldn't i just make it myself? i get that the purity may be off a bit but like, most likely byproduct is just nitrate. The worst i'd get is a headache i think given i was off with the reaction stoichiometrically. It legit sounds easier than looking at riddles on where to get it for me lol. I just don't have the kind of brain for that stuff.

i have no idea but like i have heard people on here fail from using SN. So I am a bit cautious of that method in itself ngl.

Perhaps provide the source you found that gives the steps for sodium nitrite synthesis.

I see there is a video from NurdRage on YouTube titled "Lab Notes - Failure in Making Sodium Nitrite".

If you go to the description, he says "I thought I'd give it (synthesizing SN) a try, even though I knew it's notoriously tricky for amateur chemists like me to produce".

And I think by amateur he means here non-professional, lol. Just look at his channel.

There was a YouTube playlist on it, not sure if it's still up. It looked complicated, but not totally impossible! Although the guy seemed to be using professional equipment in it.
