The twitter account of the prolifers who want this forum shut down has disabled the function to see their tweets. Does anyone know why? Were they infiltrated??? Lol. (Like they infiltrate us) Don't wanna spread conspiracies. I am just curious. Have I missed something out?
I doubt they had the insight that adults should have the right to die with dignity.

They've switched their account to private - which suggests to me they have something to hide. Why hold a public campaign in private? Very odd behaviour.. leave 'em to carry on with it in private I say.
They may be plotting something, they just be backing down, who knows (no-one, because their tweet campaign is private).

They (fixthe26) have ALWAYS been so narrow minded. Case in point as far as: easy to judge, hard to understand. They have never figured out the aspect that we ARE a global family here that truly loves and cares about each other, with NO judgmental behavior towards each other here. Is it that maybe, just maybe they have had a aha moment, a brain fart if you will, that for once they have figured out that we, the global family, ARE doing great and wonderful things for each other AND humankind in general? They're in danger of being banned from Twitter for doxxing and spreading false information that they get from QAnon nutters. Whenever they're Twitter account goes protected/private, that means one of their tweets was reported and they got in 'twubble'

People may have their own opinion, but SS is a site that is very much needed and helps a lot of isolated people. It makes me feel better. Some people just want to free themselves from the pain and suffering that life has given them. It's perfectly rational as many problems cannot be fixed. Some people just haven't suffered enough to get it. Its terrible there is so much stigma against suicide, humans need a right to die, it should be a basic human right.

This is very interesting, maybe they realized how shit they were at marketing and social media presence, that account was basically screaming into the void since no one payed any attention to them anyway.

probably, I'm sure the dream isn't over yet; still a win for our side though considering a bunch of us reported this one tweet of theirs and this might well be because of action taken on the account.

I just really don't understand how they don't see that they're making it worse for some people who are suicidal.

There are so many people who come to this forum, connect with like-minded people and genuinely feel better. I swear from the bottom of my heart that being able to source SN and knowing it's an 'option' to CTB has actually made me not want to CTB because my mind is at ease.

They're probably making people more suicidal on balance by having this campaign. Congratulations, you just ended the lives of people who could have been saved from using this forum. Nice going.

Their Twitter account is still showing for me. I don't think it has been taken down. Perhaps they deactivated it temporarily. I do remember that they privatised their Tweets, which are public again now. The Stop Sanctioned Suicide Facebook pages are still up and running too.

it was gone. i checked when @omoidarui mentioned it. but i just checked again and it they are all back. weird....?

It's a shame they have returned. Their pages are awful. They approach their stance in the worst possible way, by bullying and harassing vulnerable individuals, taking screenshots of their posts without their consent (I understand this is publicly viewable content, but it's still in poor taste) and making assumptions and judgements about members who share very difficult, personal information about their circumstances.

If their goal is truly to prevent suicide, insulting, harassing, judging and "exposing" suicidal people isn't the way to do it. They cherry pick posts that seemingly support their narrative, conveniently ignoring the many threads in which members are shown kindness, solidarity and support.

I honestly feel their "campaign" is motivated by grief and revenge, not a genuine desire to help people who are feeling suicidal. How are their actions towards members of this forum even marginally helpful or supportive? They make people here feel worse, monitored and as though any of us could have our posts plastered all over their Facebook and Twitter accounts at any moment. They have gone as far as doxxing people. Do they not recognise how much distress this can cause for someone already at rock bottom?

Their bullying tactics aside, the option to die peacefully should be a human right for all of us. None of us choose to be born, none of us choose to endure a life of suffering, so none of us should be forced to suffer indefinitely until we die from illness, an accident, murder, old age or other means beyond our control. There is dignity in having a choice, and all of us deserve that autonomy and dignity.
