Just as we can see the savagery in FGM and judge those countries that practice it accordingly. All the old justifications for it have all been proven unnecessary and now the practice just carries on like a zombie, the fact that FGM is worse is something I've heard as an.... actual defense of MGM?? LMAO that's like saying cutting off someone's hand is worse than cutting off their finger so I'm justified in cutting off your finger.

The worst are the victims of MGM who are stockholm syndrome'd to the practice, as if seeing the wrong in the practice would be admitting wrongness in themselves, and so they defend it in desperation even subjecting their own children to it so they can echo themselves so they don't feel insecure, it's complete crab in bucket mentality. Where's your rage? Or did they cut your balls off with your foreskin too?

I'm completely sympathetic, the discovery of circumcision was a devastating trauma from which I have never recovered. Are you actually Japanese? I understand that circumcision happens a lot there, as also in China, and in Korea the majority of males are cut (though it's been years since I was researching all this). The social history behind this is interesting.

No, just learning to read Japanese. Luckily where I'm from it's seldom done, but MGM just falling out of practice isn't good enough, it should be outright criminalized.

Admirable. Keep at it.

I know how you feel, but I've come to the conclusion that direct oposition to a practice like this only strengthens people's determination to cling to it. The decline of circumcision due to the diffusion of true information is the only way it's going to happen. And even then, the decline of circumcision as a religious practice and as a treatment for medical conditions like phimosis will take centuries more.

How has your circumcision affected you personally? I was born at a time and place where it was normal, but if you're living in a country where it's done only as a medical treatment, you must belong to a circumcised minority of no more than ten percent. I was very fucked up about it, but miraculously it never made me impotent, thank God.

If the party getting the procedure is able to and does consent then circumcision for phimosis is fine, actually circumcision for any reason is fine as long as there's consent, just like people are free to get body modifications like a split tongue, I'm completely pro choice about it. Which is why I'm aginast infant circumcision exclusively, which should be renamed to Genital Mutilation (even if it isn't botched).

I don't even think reasons should be given against circumcision like the apparent reduction in sensitivity, I can't even say if it's all true. I'm against it out of pure principle, that you shouldn't remove someone's body part without their wholehearted initiative.

I'm not circumcised myself, but it's just such a blatant ethical violation that doesn't seem to get anywhere near the attention it needs. I've been mistreated in utero and post partum from drug intoxication so that might be where the weirdly personal indignation comes from. But mostly it's just not being able to stand the moral uppitiness over trivialities I see a lot in culture whilst the same culture holds issues like circumcision and factory farming in disdain.

I completely agree with you. My uncle's infant circumcision was botched. He was crazy from childhood, and finally ended up being killed by another prisoner in a psycho-prison.

Right. Obviously people should have true information so that they can make their own decision.

I'm with you on factory farming too, I'm vegan.

A court in Germany ruled a couple of years ago that circumcision is illegal because it violated "Körperliche Unversehrtheit" something that's protected by law.

This caused a big scandal because circumcision bans where first introduced by the Nazis historically as part of their antisemitic legislation. The law was quickly changed to allow MGM again.

I fully agree that it's mutilation. Sexual pleasure is scientifically proven to be reduced for circumcised men. If an adult wants to do it that's one thing but children shouldn't undergo it just cause of religious mandates.

Also I read that circumcision is big in America (the only non Jewish or Islamic majority country where it is widely practiced) and that it was originally introduced in an effort to make boys not fap. That's even more fucked up than the religious thing.
