Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Say you woke up tomorrow with 10 mil in the bank: how much would it improve your mental state?

  • Completely - Without being buried in debt or struggling with basic living expenses, problem solved.

  • Significantly - I might not quite be "happy" or "cured," but pretty close to it.

  • Somewhat - I'd still be very depressed, but suicide would become more of an afterthought.

  • Barely - I'd definitely still prefer to die, but it probably wouldn't be on my mind 24/7.

  • Not at all - Finances aren't a factor, or I'm already financially comfortable yet still suicidal.

I'm curious how much everyone thinks (or knows) their situation would improve if financial struggles were out of the equation.

I think at first it would do wonders. No suicidal thoughts, no hassle, barely any sign of depression. I'd be so happy to do the things I always wished I could, partaking in all my hobbies, providing for my loved ones, etc. But ultimately, depression would inevitably rear its head again, and then, who knows. Shit, maybe I could pay for the world's top therapist.

I would be completely free to do whatever I wanted to for a little while, which would be great, and then I could kill myself on a high note. So it would significantly improve my mental state and yet I would happily kill myself anyway after a while after having enjoyed life to the fullest first

Briefly I'd feel ecstatic. Finally I could have a house and get a good night's sleep without having to deal with loud apartment neighbors. Then eventually, the emptiness would settle back in as I realized that my life lacks any real pleasure or purpose. I have $10 million, but what would there be to do with it? I don't have desires beyond a house. What do you when you feel no desire and suffer from anhedonia?

I can buy all the video games to my heart's content, but they still won't change the fact that I'm a masochist :/ Money money money

Mental state is often tied to physical state. Work is unbearbly stressful for people with serious diseases. My body could heal if I weren't constantly in a financial fight/flight mode. How effective can you be at life when you're one minor problem away from being homeless and barely able to get out of bed. Rather, rinse, repeat for years.

it would not solve my biggest problem, but it would solve some of the others.
