Filling issue with 900 10 mg pills

An online friend of mine wants to go the Amitriptylin route with a 9 gr stash he collected through the years. The problem is they're all 10 mg tablets and this would mean 900 pills! I did some research and this poses a real problem. These low concentrated pills in bulk will have a relatively huge amount of filler (lactose, microcrystalline cellulose). Depending on the brand, a total "package" weight anywhere between 15 and 35 grams. Apparently such an amount of filler may cause heavy stomach pains due to the amount of water it apparently extracts from the bowels. It would need a huge amount of water to neutralize the absorbing effect, particularly since the PPH recommends even more (10 gr). Not even to mention lactose intolerance...So I told him to not attempt this, since the risk of puking half way (and calling 911) would be very real IMO.

I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on this.

While fillers pose a challenge, I don't think that 35 grams would require 'a huge amount of water'. If you're able to dissolve it in water, that amount should be enough. I imagine it being a couple 100 milliliters of water and not a lot more. If you're allergic to any of the filler substances then I would worry about that mainly.

I have also read somewhere that some of the filler substance actually is designed to aid the medication in being absorbed. Not too sure on that, however. It will probably differ from drug to drug.

Yes, I read about that aiding function as well. However, I'm not sure how much water would have a negative impact on the effect (like with SN for example). In this case I would probably take an extra amount of water to be sure..
