I'm just here to say hello and that Filipino culture is genuinely one of my favorite cultures and groups of people in the world. I've met so many Filipinos through healthcare, real estate, and insurance, and they have been some of the sweetest, hardest-working people I've ever known. I genuinely treasure the Filipino people I've had the privilege of knowing.
Some I've met were incredibly creative and artistic, while others could sing so beautifully they should have multimillion-dollar record deals, yet they'd stay completely humble about it, and just casually blew their family and friends away on karaoke nights. I've always admired the warmth, humor, talent, and closeness I've encountered around them.
I'm not trying to white-knight you or tell you what choices you're allowed to make. I don't know everything you're carrying, and I wouldn't pretend that I do. I just wanted to leave you a little kindness from a stranger and remind you of something that can be difficult to see when you're in a dark place, which is that you probably matter to more people than you realize. Your absence would leave a space that nobody else could simply fill. Filipinos seem tight-knit and very cohesive as a family and cultural unit, so I imagine your absence would affect them immensely. I at least think there are almost certainly people who would rather sit beside you through the worst night of your life than wake up tomorrow and discover that you're gone. Whatever you decide, I hope you're gentle with yourself tonight.
And I'm truly sorry for the pain, injury/illness, or trauma that brought you to need this group. We all have our reasons for being here. i just hope that if I come across your profile in the future and it says you haven't been active in a long time, that it's because you recovered and you're happy and at peace in you life, and not for any other reason.
