What's everyone's favourite, assuming you watch it. I want to know everyone's opinions!

My person fave is Haibane Renmei and Aria. Haibane gives a very melancholic feeling and both are very comfy.

This is probably a overly cliched choice for a favorite anime of all time but for me it has to be Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I love Rei because I relate to her a lot. She barely expresses any emotion and is used by everyone.

Shinji too because he prefers to be alone, can't connect to anyone and has a strained relationship with his father. I'm just not as emotional as him.

I read manga rather than watch anime but my favorite books are Berserk, Vinland Saga, Tokyo Ghoul (prequel and sequel) and Seraph of the End.

Not a huge fan of anime, but I did like Ghost in the Shell. I've also watched Akira which has a great story, but struggled with all the shouting :))

Honestly, there's so much good anime and manga to choose just 1 fave, so I guess my favorites would be:
Mob Psycho 100
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
One Punch Man
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Also not really an anime, but it kind of is, both avatar the last air bender and the legend of Korra.

I think I've watched Neon Genesis Evangelion at least three or four times in the last ten years, including the movie, and twice the Rebuild. Too many things to like, so much to relate and complex characters.
Over the years I've enjoyed Death Note, Black Lagoon, the movie Perfect Blue and Naruto (no last chapter or Boruto stuff for me, tho).
Manga: Berserk, Kuroshitsuji, Girl Friends, Junji Ito's stuff and my latest fave, Murciélago

Anime: Madoka, for the art style and storytelling. Shigatsu gets a close second for the way it manages to frame musical sequences.
Movie: 5 cm per second, for the art style. Paprika is a close second for the same reason. Overall, I prefer Kon's work, but 5 cm per second will always be my favorite film.
Manga: One Piece, for managing to somehow maintain compelling storytelling after 900 chapters. Alita is a close second for the action direction. The manga feels as kinetic as the storyboards for Fury Road.
Visual Novel: Umineko, for being a interesting murder mystery. Clannad is close second for having a lot of good characters in that enormous runtime.

Specifically Season 3, sensui's hatred towards humans.

Death note, seven deadly sins, and Yu-Gi-Oh too.

Could not watch Inuyasha, not catchy to me.

Could not watch Inuyasha, not catchy to me.

the last arc (about 26episodes) is good, try the manga :D

I see that no one mentioned bleach yet! i'm at chapter 493 but am saving the last arc for some days in the future, seems like they're not going to animate it. bleach was one of the animes where I actually liked even the new animation style :( I want to see aizen again

Also not really an anime, but it kind of is, both avatar the last air bender and the legend of Korra.

i first hated it and then it catched me (didnt see the korra part) :D back in the days when all good animes weren't finished yet and I discovered a bunch of (until then) unknown subbed episodes  i cant watch dubbed anymore, in german its always horrible, the english dub of bleach was fine

I've forgotten most of what i've watched. Darker than black i think was pretty gloomy. Tbh anything with characters that don't give a damn about the world/bad guy's i tend to like. I steer clear of all the happyhappyjoyjoy stuff ... Same with movies/series but it's been a long time since i had enough energy to even start watching a show.

Love the camera work. Stellar original soundtrack.

I adore that show. I love the setting of a vague mysterious post-apocalyptic setting and two innocent girls trying to survive, to find meaning. It feels uneasy and melancholic but hopeful at the same time.

Also I think the author might feel welcome on this forum, they've drawn some umm... "interesting" artwork to say the least.

The atmosphere of the series is fantastic. The studio made a great job at mixing this comfy yet oppressing feeling of the world they're traveling in.

I loved the part when they got drunk and started dancing under the moonlight in the middle of the ruins, with the echo of their voices fading away.

Love the contrast between their insouciance and the serious tone of the world that falls apart around them. The last humans alive ? Who cares, let's explore !

Tsukumizu seems to have a lot of dark thoughts indeed. Can't blame the Japanese, seeing the pressure that their society puts on them. Also she's an artist.

Love the last artwork. All the burden weighing on their shoulders finally vanishing, so refreshing.

I've never watched anything from Satoshi kon, but I'd really like to see Paprika, perfect blue and paranoia agent. Anyway, serial experiments lain is really worth watching imo, makes you think a lot, and I don't know why it's not known much

There are few animes that kinda "stand out" emotionally in my memory.

1. Yuri On Ice (Figure skating is stunning/beautiful enough on its own. Combine that with good story, you get yourself a winner.)

2. Chihayafuru (A rare shoujo story that actually got me interested with its romance part.)

3. Ookiku Furikabutte (Mihashi and Abe's relationship is so adorable )

4. Hikaru no Go (The reason I got interested in playing Go even though it's a very time sucking hobby.)
