Yeah, would be highly tempted to shoot myself, especially since I know someone with a gun with zero security on it, but I've seen far far too many stories about people somehow surviving

Shotgun to the head is known to be the most reliable. 99.9% success rate

The inert gas method has been probably used by hundreds of thousands of people (or even more) and I haven't seen a single medical report of somebody surviving (barring out the ones who were rescued by another person immediately obviously), go figure.
