Failed attempts always made me so sad. All the courage it takes to actually follow through, just for it to not work...

Stay strong đź«‚

I haven't looked into the numbers but plenty of posts on here of people trying this method but only wake up hours later with a headache and the bag dislodged from their head.
That sucks

So sorry to hear this :-(
That's why I fear so much a failed attempt.
I hope you'll find peace. If you need to talk, we're here.

But damn, why must we suffer like that ?? Thousands of people die everyday. Is death forbidden for us ??
I agree, why the f is it so hard to kill yourself or can't I just get a terminal illness n be done.

When I looked into the statistics, only 5 to 30% of intentional sodium nitrite poisonings were successful. Obviously, SN can and often does go wrong.
What are these statistics and how do the PPEH not have access to them? They score SN an 8 in terms of reliability, same as inert gas.

I just researched the statistics on the computer. Slightly different answers depending on how you phrase questions, which engine/AI, etc.

The highest number I got was from the CDC (in the US). They say 41% for intentional SN poisoning. So that means it fails more than half the time. I wonder if people throw up too much to get an effective dose?
OR I wonder if some of these people break down and call emergency services.

Could you link these statistics?

In the PPEH from 2025 it is mentioned that:
"By 2024, Exit had received eyewitness reports of over 40 nitrite deaths, some with video footage. All deaths were reported as peaceful."

and

"Sodium Nitrite is a very effective end of life agent which does not require potentiation (although this remains an option). The only failed deaths of which Exit is aware are those where there was medical intervention"

If these statistics were accurate, this wouldn't be a recommended method. 41% success rate is abysmal.

OR, some people panic and call emergency, or are found quickly. In those cases it wouldn't be a failure of the SN, really.
Then wtf works?
Jumping from a great height, at least 10 stories(I think).

Gunshot is 90% successful. So even that can fail.

Wow.. looks super painful.. been there with failing.. I get it.. it's super frustrating.. the only method I know that's effective most of the time is a gunshot.. I hope you feel better and find something that works for you. Whatever that is..
