It's incredible how much influence money (or rather the absence of) can have on someone's life. Anything you want to do you need fucking pieces of paper. You need something basic as food and shelter? Money. Clothing? money. Want to take care of a pet? Money. Want to study? Money. Entertainment to keep you distracted from the horrors of life? Money. Want to pursue a career in which you need a certification for and then get a job after? Money (ironically). And in some corrupt countries like mine you also need money to have it easier, and this act is called bribery. Bribery is used a lot in order to get ahead. Keeping yourself healthy? Money. They will do anything to milk money out of you, just look at these subscription based services. I wonder how they don't charge you yet for breathing. I can absolutely imagine this happening in the future. Absolutely a dreadful world to live in. If you're poor you're fucked from all sides. Social mobility is a lie. Can't wait to fucking go.

Edit: Also forgot to say how more money you have the more you are well seen and appreciated and many will be lying at your feet. But money is of course hard to earn, and that is so the few who are in charge can keep being powerful.

There's been studies on this as well and the wealth position of your parents determines almost all of your life after that. I don't have a link since I don't really debate others, but it's on topic I suppose. Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does buy chances at fixing your life and freedom to pursue it in many different avenues that being poor doesn't.

"The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of sleight-of-hand that was ever invented. Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin. The Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create deposits, and with the flick of the pen, they will create enough deposits to buy it back again. However, take it away from them, and all the great fortunes like mine will disappear and they ought to disappear, for this would be a happier and better world to live in. But, if you wish to remain the slaves of Bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, let them continue to create deposits and control credit."

~Sir Josiah Stamp, (1880-1941) President of the Bank of England in the 1920's, then the second richest man in Great Britain.

__

"The bank hath benefit of interest on all moneys which it creates out of nothing."

~William Paterson (1658–1719) British financier and founder of the Bank Of England in 1694.

__

"There is no subtler, no surer means of overturning the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction and does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose. If governments refrain from regulation [taxation], the WORTHLESSNESS of the money becomes apparent and the FRAUD upon the public can be concealed no longer. Though the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some."

"By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens. By this method they not only confiscate, but they confiscate arbitrarily."

~John Maynard Keynes, the very famous and highly respected British economist (1883-1946) from his book "Economic Consequences of the Peace", 1920, that exposes the fraud, although that was not his intent.

__

"If all the bank loans were paid, no one could have a bank deposit, and there would not be a dollar of coin or currency in circulation. This is a staggering thought. We are completely dependent on the commercial Banks. Someone has to borrow every dollar we have in circulation, cash or credit. If the Banks create ample synthetic money we are prosperous; if not, we starve. We are absolutely without a permanent money system. When one gets a complete grasp of the picture, the tragic absurdity of our hopeless position is almost incredible, but there it is. It is the most important subject intelligent persons can investigate and reflect upon. It is so important that our present civilization may collapse unless it becomes widely understood and the defects remedied very soon."

~Robert H. Hemphill, former credit manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta

I would say something about it but I would feel hypocritical for having indirectly affected thousands of people

Money is basically the symbol of power. No money = no power = you can't do anything without power. You are powerless. Other people need more power, so you're useless to them. Everything is about power no matter how complicated human inventions are.

This has always been something that's bothered me about our existence, a lot of your life is dictated by the family/environment you were born into.

Having money can not take away all suffering, but it can improve somebodys quality of life. In a life like this many people are disadvantaged through no fault of their own, it is all very unfair. In my opinion it is better to never be born in the first place.

profiteering in death!!. The funeral business never hits hard times. Infact the pandemic has seen bodies in backlog. I've gone for a cheap disposal with no-one in attendance. Im having none of this false tears and sadness.

Apparently the funeral situation is so bad that in the US the government made a program where they basically footed the bill for Covid funerals. I think you were able to get up to 10k

Though i live in England, i was always curious about Newyork's Potter's field where bodies are piled into a mass grave. Some awful stories there but its a wake up call for everyone. That death is guaranteed and we are all just guests in this world. Being dead is the same for everyone.

Ah yes, money the true root of all evil. I agree with that. I have some savings but I have spent it on things to make catching the bus easier. The rest will go to my death expenses and charity. I do hate money though. It has cancelled a lot of people out because of the lack of it.

Yep, I feel you.

I was raised in dysfunctional family, with a financially illiterate, dysfunctional andsingle parent, in a house where things are always breaking and we can never afford to fix them in a middle of place where there are no job openings. And not much really changed.
Ever since I was kid I felt despair, because there is a large discrepancy between what we must do in order to survive and what we want to live for. But life was never fair, nor it should have existed in the first palce.
I felt like I was doing well despite it up until some point, but the more time passes, I feel like I should just give up 'officially' since I gave up long ago

If anyone wants to depress (& possibly educate) themselves further, I recommend DW documentary on that one German millionaire and Yanis Varoufakis' recent talks on techno feudalism, it goes to show that 'capitalism' is evolving into something much worse and it's going to eat bottom 99% alive and feed the reptiles just because.

From there on, there are many possible terrible scenarios when some climate disaster, misuse of new technologies, 'immigrating to Mars' and lack of resources take place but I honestly hope I die before I see. This wolrd was simply doomed from beggining and nothing could change that, it's no wonder people don't want to live in it,

And oh, when I die, I'd be fine with my corpse being fed to dogs or used as a tree fertilizer. Honestly, I think my family would struggle to afford burial, even tho they actually own few graveyard parcels LOL

Money is one of the worst things about life. And I say this as a hypocrite, I play the stock market daily, not in the hopes to get rich but simply because life is expensive.

I guess on the flip side, death is cheap. So I've always got that.
