• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Sometimes it's not a physical or mental disability that causes people to think about dying. Sometimes it's situation in life that makes continued existence utterly pointless or too difficult to overcome with no upsides. Imagine if there was someone heading towards homelessness and another just being very lonely. What if they lived in the same city or willing to move in together and solve each other's problems? The about-to-be-homeless one gets a chance to start over and the lonely gets a grateful friend. I know this forum has members worldwide and compatibility could be an issue. Seeing how many people here are just fed up with humans being their usual evil selves, it makes me think that some of them could just meet up and go through life together while avoiding the rest of humanity. Only a select few people can understand us and most of those are here. If humanity is the issue, you might be able to find the exception among the SaSu community.

Of course, safety should be an important factor here as well, A lot of scumbags are preying on the vulnerable, But then if the goal is to CTB if things get worse after being scammed, it would make for an unreliable investment in the first place.

What do you think?

It's not that simple, though. I mean, if you just want a friend and are rich, and I'm homeless then maybe we could be friends and you pay me... but that's a short-term fix, because if I'm mostly your friend for the money, I'm not a real friend and at some point you feel like you're buying a friend and it doesn't feel real and then we're back where we started.

And if I'm lonely for a romantic partner, I would have to be attracted to the person offering that in exchange for whatever I had that they need... or that wouldn't work... and again, if I start to think you're only with me for whatever I had that you needed, then I'll become less attracted and we're back to the beginning again.

Is it possible? Sure. Maybe people meet here because of problems and through talking realize they can honestly and organically meet each other's needs and wouldn't have met each other without this site. IF that happens, then that's great for both parties. But, honestly, that is going to be as rare or rarer than finding your needs met where you already are in your normal life... which clearly hasn't happened or you wouldn't be here.

So, I don't see this as a magic bullet to fix things for more than just a few people.

Yes, there are people who still want to live. Some would just need money, for example, to be able to enjoy life or at least cope without CTB. There are countless situations. But there are a much larger number whose minds do not adapt to life as it is and money would not solve it. There are people with physical pain that would not be solved with money either. There are psychological traumas that will stay with people forever. And there are those who think that life is not worth the price it charges. This is my specific case. My depression and anxiety are controllable, but I have reached a point of no return regarding the meaning of existence. For me, life is the result of an accident. Therefore, I should not even be here.

i think there is something so beautiful in what youve said. not everyone here is in need for that one perfect "cure" to their desires of ctb. maybe some of us are just longing for someone to sit beside us in the ache. not to fix it, just to make it feel a little less endless. and maybe thats enough. maybe sometimes thats what survival really looks like.

i have been lucky enough to have made two wonderful connections on sasu. nothing too deep or dramatic, just soft places to land when the days feel too sharp. even if we are just talking music or shooting the shit, they are so special to me. sweet distractions that remind me im still human. still capable of laughing. still seen. just being able to talk with them has brought me real comfort, on the sad days, they make the weight feel lighter, even if only for a moment. they have no idea how much they have made me smile <3

theres something so rare and tender about finding people who dont flinch at your sadness. who stay. who make space for you without needing you to be okay all the time. and maybe sometimes, thats all we need. not a solution. just someone to walk with us through the quiet ruin.

so yes maybe the way forward isnt always in healing, but taking it day by day. holding each other close, even if only through a screen, and saying, im still here. and so are you.

I found a reason to live. My thoughts of CTB are still intact - I still don't like existing.
It's just far more difficult to carry on with the protocol now and I have much more regret now.

I just had to take a moment to say you have a way with words. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I have plenty of reasons to live but my major depressive disorder makes me just want to die every second of every day.

Nah. Humans will never be creatures that make me want to stay. In fact humans are a huge reason I want to die.

It's a lovely idea. It could work in some cases but, like everything in life, it has the potential to go both ways. People do sometimes give one another new perspectives here though too. It can be as simple as- have you tried this?

Trusting someone enough to invite them into your home or going to live with a stranger is quite a big risk. I admire the generosity/ bravery to do that but I can also picture the ways that could go very wrong.

That is a primary reason why I do not have pets. I do not want to hurt anyone intentionally or through neglect.
