Okay so I know this is morbid but I guess I'm in the right place for morbid. So my sister is my only family member left and the main reason I'm leaving. I don't plan on leaving her my money or my home and will make arrangements with an estate planner to ensure this doesn't happen, however, she is my next of kin and so she'll be the first to be notified when I pass. But apparently I can legally prevent this from happening as well which I want to do because even if she doesn't get my estate, she could have me cremated (she told me this is what she would do) and I want to be buried. I also don't want anyone in my extended family to know I've passed until after the funeral that will be hosted by the church I plan to give my estate to. Ideally, nobody in my family would know I'm gone until after my funeral has passed, but I do have some last messages I want to send to my sister and I just discovered that on Gmail you can schedule when an email is sent so I could have the emails go out a month after I'm gone and just finding this out is a relief. I can also email the executor of my estate and schedule it to reach him/her 24 hours after I pass and doing these things will help to ensure my burial wishes are honored. I just felt like sharing I guess and am wondering if anyone else has thought of or dealt with these types of issues?
