A suicidal man robs a plane, plays around, then kills himself. You can hear some of his last words in the video.

What do you think? Yay or nay? It's a thrilling experience before leaving, but it's 'kinda' selfish to ruin a machine that has costed thousands of hours of work to be made. Obviously this won't matter if you don't respect society, etc.

...and we are complaining about finding an easy method... :smiling:

Jokes aside - how did he make the plane to back out and turn to one side? Was that some kind of auto pilot? He was creative, at least, buy I agree that this was too expensive of a toy for him to play around with.

Lmao, If I was to kill myself right now, I can assure you that I wouldn't be able to give less fucks about how much my method costs, why would I care about a plane when my life is fucked enough for me to end it? Why would that guy even care?

It was parked in a roll out position which is kinda common for small to medium planes what i wondered at the time was how he was able to start the APU and then disconnect the GPU without raising suspicion.

This story is pretty sad. I mean I gotta respect his epic exit and the loop de loop but it feels like there could have been a way for him to get help. And obviously stealing a plane is a a really bad idea because he could have gotten others killed when landing it or taking off.

Does he get to be in the Mile High Club because he fkd himself up?

......Too far? Dark humour.

Edited: in sad irony, the Air Ambulance (Ambulance helicopter) just flew over my property as I was reading this thread.

What makes me most sad about his story is that he pretty much had almost everything. A job although badly paid, a gf and a family but the hopelessness and despair of the modern society drove him to this act anyway. I feel the same in a way and there is no solution for me or this sick civilization we live in.

A sense of social responsability, y'know. I don't have a lot of that but still, I would understand someone not wanting to screw over people with their death. Though I can understand also the completely opposite view, even murder-suicide. It depends on what your mindset is.

I remember watching that on mad lads... from what I can remember he had no experience flying a plane, and based his knowledge on video games. He then crashed his plane in a secluded place away from any people so no one got hurt - pretty legendary way to die IMO.

Especially his last words to the authorities which were along the lines of "alright, let's call it a day".

Damn, he seemed like a really cool guy with a great personality and sense of humor.

Reading how shocked the pilots were that he did a barrel roll was really awesome, I'm sure he felt amazing after it too. What a way to go.

Goes to show that serious suicidal-level depression can come for any of us at any time, regardless of income, status, or relationships.

Wish I had been a passenger!

Imagine if we could like organize a full flight of ctb-ers only, including pilot / crew who's also suicidal and then go out this way. That'd be the mother of all suicide pacts!

35000 ft and the pilot shuts off the engine, oxygen masks drop down but no one is using them, and in 2 minutes its lights out for everyone from hypoxia. 15 more minutes and a loud explosion later, nothing is left.

I guess it's easier to steal a plane than a locomotive. Course WD on utube took a plane and crashed it for gags.

However despite having everything, even Robin Williams ctb'd by hanging. He showed no signs of depression. But to do it at 63, he waited a long B4 taking action.

As the plane was owned by a corporation and undoubtedly insured, I would say no loss there. Property can be replaced, innocent lives cannot. He took care to not hurt anyone but himself so I would call this a successful suicide all around.

Williams was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's while in fact suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. In either case he was headed for a downward spiral of loss of mental and physical function which makes his choice to CTB completely rational in my book and certainly not just out of nowhere.
