Initially it did interest me, but I wouldn't have enjoyed it.You like video games. I thinking outside the box. Would designing video games interest you?

Quality wouldn't have been good enough in time. It was just a hobby. Maybe if I showed interest in it earlier I could've developed more skill. You can make a living doing fan fiction. Especially with conventions.
Yeah, I've said that in a previous post. Funny thing about writing is that I hated it back in grade school, but I found a passion for it writing fanfiction (pathetic, I know but it wasn't smut or 'My Immortal' levels of bad). Maybe it could've been a path if I showed an interest to it earlier.
A lot of high expectations for me. That's what my Dad had, but really I'm just a dime a dozen. I'm just a Willy Loman except Willy had a wife and kids that loved him. I couldn't even get that. You have two talents. I think you have potential with behind the scenes graphic things.
Exactly . There is so much. Heck. All the robots and artificial intelligence.Doesn't matter what someone likes writing, if it's something a person likes, that's all that matters. Writing and video games... I first think of being the storyline writer of indy games.
Again, not trying to talk you out of it
Please don't do this out of desperation. Trust me on that. You are much more likely to fail and possibly be found and then it will be out of your hands. Which could be a good thing if you can get real help. But this deadline because your dad will question you about a refund for college is not a reason to end your entire life. There are so many options open to you. You're healthy, young and just starting out. Sounds like you have interests. I know you said college wasn't for you. What about online courses? Or what about just getting a job and moving out until you find something you WANT to go to school for? I would hate for you to not experience a little life and independence before you make this final decision. Just think about it, only because these things are fixable.Being unrealistic would be YouTube. The only good thing I'm good at is video games and I joined back in 2009. If I could've been a part of the video game boom that happened later then it could've been a full time job that Dad might've not liked, but it would've gotten me money so he wouldn't have cared.
Realistically, probably something in writing.
Dropped all my classes in a way to make myself feel free. Soon the refund will show up in the bank statement and my Dad will see it and question it. I appreciate your worry, but I'm prepared and ready for this. Worst case scenario is that I do it tomorrow night.
He's adamant about Computer Science, nothing else.I'm not trying to stop you. If you are interested in behind the scene things, find a college that will help you with graphic design and tell your father this is what you want to do.
Only a dream unfortunately. Maybe in the afterlife or something.Doesn't matter what someone likes writing, if it's something a person likes, that's all that matters. Writing and video games... I first think of being the storyline writer of indy games.

That's the thing. IT WAS AN ONLINE COURSE! I GOT A 4.0 AND I WAS MISERABLE! If I'm not able to succeed online college, then college isn't for me.Please don't do this out of desperation. Or at least don't do this in desperation. Just my two cents.

Exactly. If only he could understand that a degree means nothing if you don't have a path.I wish he would've listened to you with what you would've wanted to do.
I can tell you that people with experience in computer sciences don't always get a job, and sometimes don't even make more than minimum wage at department stores.
They will have to learn the hard way, unfortunately. You said it exactly. Meanwhile, the Fed refuses to ease up on the interest. What is the point of getting educated, I ask you? So you can end up slinging burgers at McDonald's? As a boomer, I was fortunate to get an undergrad and graduate school degree; that was in the eighties...I certainly could'nt do it now. This country will pay a heavy price someday for neglecting its college grads!
The one time I tried to drop out of college is when he called me a "fucking moron" and to "get your fucking education" or else I'm kicked out of the house. Are you certain there is no way you could try talking to your dad ?
Or could you go and stay with a friend, while you figure out what to do ?
Or can you take advice from some type of helpline ? Explain the whole situation. Tell them you don't want to do what your dad wants, but then he will kick you out, at find out what your rights are, etc ?
Maybe college is not for you, but maybe you can do some other job, start at the bottom, and work your way up from there.
Life is not static. Different opportunities may pop up at different times.....
Well not having a car is not so terrible. Do you have public transport where you are ?The one time I tried to drop out of college is when he called me a "fucking moron" and to "get your fucking education" or else I'm kicked out of the house.
Even if I were to leave then I would have nowhere to go. I have no friends. One of the consequences of technology. I would not want to leech off my uncle, or, gosh forbid, my grandparents.
Then where would I be? In a car that would no longer have insurance and me with no medical insurance living on the streets?
I want to go out in the comfort of what still is my home.
Thank you. Hopefully, it will be quick and painless. You're so young, this is hard for me to say, I wish you a painless and peaceful transition. I'm here to support your choice. If you change your mind, we'll be here. If you go through with it, we'll be here too. Bottom line is you aren't alone.
Public transportation is fine, but it wouldn't matter if I have no direction.Well not having a car is not so terrible. Do you have public transport where you are ?
How close are you with your uncle ? Could you talk to him and see what he thinks ?
Surely there are helplines you could call to take advice. Surely you have some rights in situations like this ?
Why not spend a few days researching to see if there are any options.....
Looked at E-sports. Could've been a possibility if I developed skill for competitive games. There is a great big world full of adventures, fun, romance and LIFE beyond the doors of your home... please consider sticking around a while, getting to know some of us, share some stories. There is a collective of 1000s of years of life , inspiration , encouragement, sympathy, and wisdom umongst the members if this site.
You know your method... why not hang out with us for a while. You do not need to define your life by your career or the expectations of others. Life can be anything you want it to be, not what is expected of you by your parents, friends, or society. There are so many ways you can make a living and enjoy your life, even as an artist or a gamer. College is not for everyone, lots of people have found success without a degree. Give yourself sometime to figure things out. You could also look into a non traditional college, art school , tech school , or trade school. You have so many options, suicide shouldnt be one of them in my opinion.
Maybe you could join a pro esports team? You know overwatch players make pretty good money. Its also not to late to do youtube. You just need a gimmick, something that really sets you apart.
If you decide to go, I am sorry you feel this is what you need to do. I wish I could have known you.
I appreciate your concern.Well if you've decided 100% that wish to proceed, then I wish you a safe onward journey![]()
