easy way to set autoresponder on WhatsApp?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows an easy way to set an autoresponder message on WhatsApp that would trigger an auto-response to anyone that writes. I'd hate old friends or contacts who aren't in my normal circles to write and then think they're just being ignored.

WhatsApp business has a function but the phone needs to be on/online... I'm just thinking maybe someone knows an easy hack. Ideally I'd like it to be on for 12-16 months.
