Dumb, drunken thread; just curious

So, I learned on one of the main pinned threads the meaning of the acronym "ctb". The meaning the user gave was "to stop breathing (to kill yourself)"; however, by scrolling the forum, the actual meaning I came to see was "catch the bus".

Every time I see "ctb", my brain automatically reads it as "cease to breath". I suppose it might sound silly to some of you hehe. Maybe it's because I'm a French native speaker??

Let us discuss this linguistic question.

I never knew what it meant when I signed up, just knew it was to do with ones own suicide, now I read it in my own way, I think whilst it has a generic meaning, ie the Catch the bus here, a lot of people take it in their own way, but at the end of the day, which ever way you look at it, for those on this path, CTB just means ending your own life, the shortcut is irrelevant,

I'm no stranger to drunken threads, my friend. Like the poster above said, it's "catch the bus". I believe there's a thread or link to the wiki for new users that go through all of the terminology
