I know drilling a hole in a catalytic converter will cause more carbon monoxide to escape. But will that only mean anything if you're in a closed garage? If you were out in the open with a hose attached from the tailpipe and the other end in a slightly opened back window with the space sealed tight with tape, would it mean much then? Or is the excess carbon monoxide just going to escape through the hole and into the outside atmosphere?

If you drill a hole, that's where the gas would be escaping. You'd have to rig your hose there and seal to have a chance. Even then I don't know enough to know if this has merit to work. I'd be interested if it did, though.Similar threads
