As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.
Yeah. It was a rollercoaster.
Over two days she made me feel sorry and angry for her, then to suspicious of her story, then to angry feeling like she used us.
Then back to feeling sorrry for her

Her and Pablo had trust and jealousy issues after only knowing each other for a week online.
Id hate to see what happens afterthe honeymoon period ends!

I was convinced that pablo was a bastard
Then another member had the brains to get his side of the story and everything changed .

If boredom were a CTB method, I would be long gone
I told a member in chat that I'm 99% certain it was all a masquerade. I stated to this member "I would tell you I'm 100% certain" but I don't want you to think I'm an a-hole. Lol
It's times like these when I'm somewhat grateful that I'm over the top cynical.
I don't get duped very easy by being cynical.

Any budding screenplay writers here? I can't speak for the rest of the movie consumming public, but I would pay to watch this movie. With David Letterman writing all jokes, I'm seeing a couple of Academy Award nominations.

Basically a person came on her account claiming to be her friend andcdaid she had ctb.
But as before it didnt make sense.
And the distinct writing style was exactly the same
So she is ctb now, made it up about the police at her house, and he has a different story. But, he got banned, for something, I thought it was this? I felt so sorry for her!
I want to discuss the concept of being careful about revealing your personal information on this form, because we all are at risk of being doxxed through active participation on SS.
I've had one member I was chatting with on the form delete their post, because it disclosed too much personal information which I felt could have easily resulted in their being doxxed.
Yesterday, I noticed a thread and inside the thread the member had very distinctive nail polish in a photograph of their hand holding something.
I felt that this picture could lead to somebody doxxing them. One never knows who's lurking on this site.
I'm thinking it might not be a bad idea for somebody more skilled in this area than I to develop a mega thread on how to protect oneself ftom getting doxxed.
I know of one person with certainty who got doxxed here recently and someone called the police on this member and the police showed up at this member's door.
Hopefully, this will be the last occurrence of something like this, however, I don't think it's going to be the case.
Do other members think that a sticky mega thread might help all of us to better ensure we don't release too much information and ultimately get doxxed?
If you think I'm being hypervigilant let me know, but it's happened in the past and I'm afraid it's going to happen in the future. I believe it's best to help watch over others and to try and educate everybody as best we can.
From personal experience on a different site, I completely agree with you. My family was contacted about my interactions on a site (not here) a few months ago.
It was humiliating, and could be one of the compounding reasons I am here.

Are you comfortable sharing the circumstances as to how you were traced without going into too much detail to further potentially compromise your identity?
Ok so Tigeress probably made up her story but the other person who has been doxxed since I joined was much more believable.
Please remember.....
1. People don't have to join up to be able to read posts/threads and there are pro-lifers who scan the site to try to prevent suicides (including those who belong to the anti SS group on Facebook called "Stop sanctioned suicide.com" & they have been known to take screenshots of ss posts to share on their page.)
2. Prolifers DO join ss to try to stop Suicides & are likely to use any identifiable information in any way possible to do so.
3. If you have friends/family that actually care about you & know that you're suicidal it's possible that while doing research (to help themselves understand you & your feelings better) that they could be looking at this website.
(Yes I know that's not a potential problem for many of us here!)
4. There's nothing to stop psychiatrists/therapists/care coordinators etc looking at the site if they suspect that you might be on here &/or have mental health issues of their own.

Great insight.
I kind of think the best approach is "better safe than sorry". But, I have significant anxiety issues, and whatnot.
I don't necessarily think my approach is best. Hence the collective feedback is awesome. However, I do know with certainty that no one wants to be the weak link in the chain. Because I believe, the weak link will be doxxed. (I'm picturing the fat, slow and old gazelle being gobbled up by the pride of lion on the Serengeti).
They had a photo of themselves instead of an avatar (at that time), said which city they live in, posted photos of something that was a bit rare & posted something about their fast approaching ctb plan.
Soon after......police were knocking on their door & mental health team were involved.

the pro-lifers who try to get identifiable information etc about members. put things about members on here up, invading peoples privacy........
wonder if they would like their privacy invaded aswell???............. fucking stalking IMO.............if you were to track they and post stuff about them(which would be very easy to do through FB) ........I'm sure you would get done for stalking
I mean heaven forbid sum 'mentally ill crazy person' started to stalk them and see how they like it. i'm sure theres plenty of psychotic murderers etc here, or thats what they think anyway! they better be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder if he's still around. He was so likable. I truly felt bad he had come to this point and he didn't share what drove him to this although I assume depression from the sound of it. But I feel bad for everyone here. I really have not seen anyone I consider a bad person, on the contrary.

My fingers have been crossed that this member will see this thread and chime in..... time will tell.
There was another experience that I had over this past week that could have easily backfired and could have led to a poster being doxxed, but we took care of it really quickly and had the post deleted.

Hope this doesn't come off as too sexist, but it just seems really typical of society that a girl cries wolf and everyone hugs the girl and rips the dude apart until he proves his innocence. Interesting none of us made her prove his guilt before jumping into the lynching.

To be fair......
As far as I know he has not provided "proof" of his innocence either so it's still a he said/she said situation.
And, while I don't believe her full story & I definitely believe she took everything too far & went on about it way too much, there's still a possibility that she was telling the truth about the original phone call to the police.
A lot of people here are saying that he could not have contacted the police from another country (in Europe) &/or the police would not have acted on it but I have seen exactly that happen (nothing to do with ss) where someone called the police in their own country (much further away than Europe) to report that someone was planning to ctb in UK & within minutes the police from that country contacted police in the UK & within an hour cops were on the suicidal persons doorstep.
