I think the current moment is important. We spend so much time in yesterday and tomorrow, regrets, we miss the realness of life. In the end we all die in some way. We are made of cosmic dust and we replenish the earth when we die.

I enjoy the idea but when everyday is suffering living in the moment is not helpful

It has meaning this exact moment.

I am sorry, but i hear this type of thing a millionth time. "On the grand scale of our enormous universe, our tiny lives don't matter" is the answer that typically follows such type of questions. Is such a tired cliche.
In such context, what does it even mean for a life to "matter"? To have a "meaning"? How does it relate to universe and it's size?
Matter TO WHOM or TO WHAT? There is no such thing as just mattering. A thing matters such to one thing (/person) and matters differently to another.
And what's meant here by "meaning"? Most of those who ask "what is the meaning of life" don't even entirely know what do they mean by "meaning". The answer will just reveal itself depending on how meaning of "meaning of life" is clarified.

I don't think so, but I don't think it needs to, either. We can't escape the universes we create in our minds as we perceive and understand everything surrounding us, so even if there was an objective scale of value out there, we would still access to it in the only way we know. I believe our subjectivity is what has the potential to make our existence enriching, whatever that may be.

No, our lives do not matter at all. Life is just a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it, we are only here because people decided to selfishly procreate. Everything we do is just a distraction from death. All we are doing is waiting around to die. I see life as just being meaningless suffering and I see no point to living. Things may seem to matter to us in the short term but eventually we will be unable to care about anything as we will be dead.

Not really. Not just from cosmic perspective but also from the perspective of history. Our history is filled with liars, manipulators, narcissists, sociopaths and ignorant people who went onto live their lives with pleasure till their end and even till this generation their truths aren't known to people. While innocents, hardworking people die every day and today's narcissistic and capitalistic world forgets them very easily and even judge them as nobodies. Either this universe just exists as it is or there is some eternal higher purpose which transcends all religions, philosophies, science and mysteries which none of us can ever understand in one life time alone. But that fear inside us is quite real because of which people have to believe in some greater higher power which explains today's world.

My life doesn't matter. I'm just another small animal no different from the animals dead on the side of the road hit by cars.

Even the Earth is an insignificant piece of dust in the immense void of space.

The next nearest star after the sun Proxima Centauri is 25 trillion miles away.

All meaning is constructed. Nothing really is meaningful, but if it feels meaningful, to the individual? It might as well be.

it depends on the person. Sometimes the person's belief is not accurate or misguided. some narcissists think their lives matter when they don't. Sometimes a person may think their life doesn't matter but it does matter to some people

The above is considered minimal when we talk about universe. It is easier to ignore universe and think about life in itself

i dont think our lifes need meaning, because with meaning comes responsibilities and expectation , nor is it fair to compare our selfs to the literal universe. i think complexity and size of the universe makes it like a playground for us. although i do think humans terrible suck.

In the grand scheme of things, very few people live lives that "matter". It's up to us to make it count.

There was probably a successful, popular baker from 400 years ago who felt good about his life that no one remembers now. There might have been an artist that felt fulfilled with their painting being popular in their small town, and their art may have been destroyed years ago. Hell, there might have been a great actor from a thousand years ago whose talents have been lost to time despite the time they put into polishing their craft.

It's up to us to come up with what life means to us. Unfortunately, my conclusion is that my life is disposable at best.

When all is said and done, almost none of our lives will be remembered. We exist simply for the present and once we are gone, life will go on. Sure, very few people will go down in history, but those are too far few and in between.

Yes and no, more No than yes. It's subjective. For the people that left a legacy, dead presidents for example, they will always be written about, so they mean something, but it still doesn't mean anything.

We live, then we die with some shit in the middle: That's it. I think that's partly what drives people to have kids so they leave some of them behind when they're gone. It also drives faith in one of the many gods
