Does it hurt cutting your neck?

hey guys, i want to know if cutting the arteria in your neck hurts a lot, i read that once you gut it it takes a fraction of second before you are unconscious. Does it hurt and does it works if no one can save me for about two hours? otherwise are there other methods more painless to die? i know my comment sounds stupid but I can't deal with this life anymore this ain't for me.

It hurts to die in anyway, but yes, while you might immediately fall unconscious, there are two of them on each side, and the cutting will hurt, since you're essentially stabbing yourself, but if you damage them bad enough to have it practically impossible to heal in time before passing out, you will probably die, since you cut the blood to your brain.

Can't speak from personal experience but it definitely would hurt. I think the pain doesn't last very long tho since you become unconscious.

It's painful and will take anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 minutes to lose consciousness. Not a great way to go

Aside from being incredibly painful, you would probably have to cut both arteries in the neck, which can be located quite deep depending on the person. The pain combined with your SI may prevent you from being able to successfully go through with such a method. I would reconsider this method for other ones listed on the forum's resource threads (such as SN, Hanging, Partial hanging, etc) but I wish you the best of luck regardless ♥

Isn't there any substance to get to feel less pain like aspirin or something like that?
Or isnt there anything that can kill yourself without to much pain or blood? because right now my best option is cutting my neck since I don't have anything else and I'm not breve enought to hang and i don't have an high building where I could do it and break my neck so I'd have to soffucate.
If anyone of y'all have and idea please reply to this. thanks you

It depends how fast its done. If someone was to slit throat with a sword or whatever fast like cutting one head well the person suffers less. But if its a knife yeah it will hurt but it will pass quick

As someone whose PI kicked in before they could go deep enough; yes, yes it hurts a lot, and if you mess up the cut takes forever to heal so get used to wearing turtlenecks first just in case if you're going to use that method.

Murderer Perry Smith (of In Cold Blood infamy) described the death of Herb Clutter, who had been hog tied and whose throat Smith had cut. He said Clutter made a sound "like screaming underwater". I'll pass on the throat cutting method.

Are you a capable adult? If so, what exactly stops you from reading PPH, Megathreads etc.? I feel like this thread is made by a kid or a troll. Or a journalist who after someone catches those baits will say: "they advised someone on this awful suicide forum to take aspirin for pain and cut through the arteries". Im not sure if this is typical for SS or not, but there seems to be an inpouring of recent newcomers whose initial posts plead for help by begging other members to supply them with a method + a step-by-step regimen that covers the how, when, and where to ctb. I don't understand why anyone even entertains these types of threads, tbh. I always worry that the OP is young and/or impulsive, or that they are phishing or trolling (as you mentioned.)

I wouldnt suggest this method it seems super painful, and there isnt going back
but also im not a reliable source because i want my ctb method to be painful.

For sure it would definitely hurt, we also need to consider the blade used, a really sharp blade can make it faster, but a dull blade will just be too painful. Also depends on your body size, too much fat may indicate that the veins and arteries are too deep, this causing much more pain than intended. Though if you're a much more slimmer person, you can get to the desired structures more quickly, albeit, it's still going to be painful. Though, it really is up to you if you want to go through with this method, but other methods as people stated above are much more recommended, good luck!

I have done this before, not sure if I can send images (I imagine not) but I cut my throat in 4 places and the surgeon told me that I was extremely lucky to be alive, he said he could see my jugular inside one of the incisions. It wasn't that painful, I'd probably compare it to cutting yourself during a shave and spraying aftershave on afterwards. However, the lidocaine used just before the sutures was probably the most pain I've experienced.
I imagine that you would lose consciousness quite quickly as the jugular carries a lot of blood.

I don't mean to encourage or discourage you, I just hope you do enough research and contemplate every choice in life

Cutting the throat was my initial method I wanted to persue years ago but after reading cases of failed attempts, I was so horrified that I stopped researching about it. I would'nt risk attempting this method.
