God is a complicated belief for me. I think it's strange how the universe had to start somehow and his existence would be the best explanation, but only because of what humans taught. But also, there's no proof of him or Jesus and there's never been any signs. If he's real, I accepted that he doesn't care what happens to us. We're probably a sick little experiment.
Mostly I just don't think he does exist. Because no proof of an afterlife seems to actually exist and I just think there would have been something by now.

I just pray and hope that humanity learns to follow the better angels of it's nature and lessen suffering for everyone.

I also pray and hope that the universe is more good than evil.

I think the fact that we come on here and try to help one another is a good sign.

When I read this question my initial reaction was "I hope not"

It just seems like a mean awful planet, my life has just been so cruel and awful, I just can't fathom why some supreme being would set this all in motion, waiting for the dominos of misery to fall to get me to my current predicament, unless there were some motive of sadism, emotion farming, or something not kind.

If there is a god then we aren't separate from it. Like looking for a pencil that is behind your ear the whole time and you were left unaware. Doesn't make any sense to pray to yourself for a better outcome, protection, or what have you. It's all happening in an instant and none of it is separate or superior to anything else. In general, I don't find superstition to be a very useful tool, better off using a pragmatic approach to life.

I don't believe in any religion and never have done, I just don't see any deeper meaning or purpose behind existence rather it all just feels like a terrible mistake to me, I see existence as just futile suffering all for the sake of it that just leads to death anyway, eventually all will be forgotten about in non-existence which is all I wish and hope for, the only relief for me really does lie in ceasing to exist, I'd never wish for this existence of unnecessary suffering that there was never a need for at all that was so tragically imposed.

I'm not sure either, I don't think god in the traditional sense exists, if there is a higher power, I don't think it is what we think it is. Though I believe it's possible there is some kind of divine power.

I somewhat fall into the belief that @divinemistress36 touched on above. I think we might be the "god" of our own universe and that "source" is a collective energy we all feed from and into.

gods made up by humans, with existing scriptures and such are most definitely not real. religion has a very defined purpose in our society. if "the creator(s)" really exist, they do so in a way none of us can possibly comprehend or understand.

i don't believe in any god , soul , afterlife, reincarnation , magic , ghosts, nothing supernatural.

Evolution is what created this torture chamber called a brain.

the animals that could suffer the worst pain survived longer to spread their genes.

for example if a monkey , or other animal stepped on a ragged rock the pain has to be very intense to cause an instant reaction pulling away . and also the pain must be so bad in that fraction of second so that the animal will remember it and be very careful to avoid sharp rocks or anything that causes intense pain.

The animals that didn't feel pain that badly then didn't pull back fast enough after stepping on that rock or forgot and did it again weren't as careful . an injury to a foot would lead to the animal being temporarily disabled less able to run for it's life from predators or defend itself or hunt etc. so that animal will not live as long as animal that is not injured. then the longer living animal will be more likely to have more offspring so their genes dominate .

after every generation the ones who could suffer the pain the worst passed on their genes more and more . our ancestors were the ones that could suffer the worst pain possible. and so are we. our brains are torture chambers.

that's the explanation for pain and similar ones for all kinds of suffering. a god or programmer wouldn't create it . it was an accident of chemistry and evolution that created life and pain
