Discussion Does anyone know what type of hanging Ian Curtis of Joy Division chose?

Various sources say he hanged in his kitchen using clothesline.

It is pretty thin and easy to break

I assume he did it partially? I don't think full suspension with clothesline is really doable

Any thoughts?

A film, I think it might have been 24 Hour Party People, showed his feet off the ground to imply full hanging. I would think it would be partial though in reality, as those clothes airers are far too fragile to hold his weight.
The film about his life, Control, merely alluded to his hanging. He kept looking at the airer then Debbie found him in the kitchen, her screams implying he was dead.

If it helps, it was this kind of pulley airer as shown in the picture. Not the exact same but the same type. In my opinion he would not have been able to hang with full suspension, but that's only my guess. It's just not strong enough to hold a man's weight.
