My father in law had no 'celebration of life' or 'memorial' service of any kind. I guess if people decide to do some sort of private event without your corpse or remains then you can't really dictate that, you can formally request that in your will, it's up to the people left behind to respect that. You don't however, have autonomy over how people wish to deal with their grief. You can certainly put it in your will that you absolutely do want a funeral service and this will be upheld. You can also wish for your remains to be disposed of rather than returned.I guess I was mostly talking about the memorial service. The 'celebration of life'. Sure you can have your corpse donated to science but you can't really ensure that people respect your wish to be forgotten
