Hi, I am a new italian member.. I was labeled a "drug-resistent depressed" by my late psychiatrist in december. Here in Italy there are two kind of healthcare, the public one and the private one. He sent me to the public healthcare system, which is collapsing and disorganized. They see me once a month or in case of urgency and I keep going and telling them I want to die and that my former doctor sent me there to be treated with ketamine, after 5 years of trying antidepressants. I am no lab rat, I refuse to take other standard antidepressants. I found a private clinic where maybe I can have my treatment done but I suppose have to convince the doctor there are no other alternatives. In my country public healthcare is almost free, in this clinic my family will have to pay thousands of euros for a life saving treatment and it is disgusting.. my mom said the treatment still need to be approved by public healthcare and I am devastated. This country doesn't care about my life at all.
