The only purpose I see to some of my suffering is to benefit others lives. Like anything I do wrong or to upset someone will make me feeling guilt or they do something to back to me is for me to impove in being able to please people more. Otherwise i don't see much point to it for myself as i don't see much point in living for myself.

There is no purpose. My suffering is a chemical imbalance, and there is nothing I did that caused it.
Justified suffering has purpose, that's not it.

Only in as much as it spares my Dad the grief of experiencing my suicide. I don't think suffering will be rewarded. But then, I don't see suffering as (spiritually) purpose driven. I simply think it's the consequence of being a sentient being in a fragile body in a (sometimes) hostile world. Beyond a mechanism to try and keep us safe, I don't believe pain has another intrinsic purpose. Only meanings we give to it to try and lessen the impact. That it will make us stronger, or more humble. That it had to happen so that something better could happen. I tell myself those things too but, I don't fully believe them.

survival is built on harm. Life feeds on life. Existence itself is predatory at its core.
Suffering is not designed with purpose, but rather a byproduct of survival mechanisms.

Couldn't agree more, and everything is race in life, which is a part of those survival mechanisms.

I think there's no purpose but sometimes I think all my suffering is a punishment for something.

There is no purpose. Suffering is just a side effect of being alive and being a human being. Human beings love a suffering. Our species continually chooses things that make us suffer and then go on about how suffering build character or some shit lol

I think suffering can be purposeful if you are able to understand it and use it to help others and yourself. I guess on a personal level some of my suffering I've been able to use to understand people, empathize, and offer ways to cope because I've been there and survived it. I think we all here are suffering and able to use our own experiences to help and assist others. Every thread, ever response is our way of using our suffering to help. A lot of people may not believe their responses are significant, but someone you may have helped and never knew.

No, never, I see suffering as completely futile serving no function but to torture existing beings until non-existence takes away all anyway, I could never see any point to any of this rather to me existence just feels like such a terrible mistake that just causes harm and suffering with no limit as to how much one can be tortured. I just wish I never had to suffer, I find it so terrible how this dreadful, cruel existence was imposed and more than anything I wish I was never burdened with this existence where I'm just waiting to not exist and I'll always see existing as waiting to die, existing to me will always and only just be suffering all for the sake of it and it's always so dreadful to me.

My suffering is due to traumatic experiences that caused an excruciating mental illness. Although it's due to extremely unfair circumstances, I do believe it serves a purpose. I believe I was born into this life to learn this lesson, and serve my purpose. As accepting as I am of that, I still struggle with accepting the fact my mental illness will be with me until I'm dead.

I don't think suffering has a purpose.
Other people always want us to suffer for them for them to be happy.

for me, suffering doesnt have any purpose, and we should aim to minimize suffering for everyone, everywhere. Pain and suffering is always bad.

That said, some people believe suffering has a purpose. Look at the monks or some people who suffer physically to make their "mind" or "soul" stronger and more resilient.
Also suffering has a purpose in many religions.

Suffering is likely something that evolved due to it being beneficial for the survival of our species. Suffering is what can help to keep you out of harm's way and can help to motivate you to do things that would be beneficial in increasing your chances of survival. For example, the suffering and discomfort that hunger can cause may motivate you to seek out something to eat. Along either that, seeing others suffer can also help us better avoid things that may come in the way of our survival and reproductive success. For example, if someone becomes horribly sick after eating some berries, seeing them in that awful state might influence us to avoid those berries in the future.

Suffering in some animals, especially in humans, can also be said to play an important role in deepening our bonds with one another, which would have been beneficial when it comes to survival and reproductive success. Shared hardships force us to work together and rely on one another. Furthermore, affective empathy likely requires suffering to work. This is because when we encounter the suffering of someone else, we experience emotion-sharing, leading us to also suffer. This causes us to then become motivated to help the other pein order toer to reduce our suffering.

Basically, suffering is likely just something that we and other organisms evolved to experience because it is a darn useful trait to have. It probably doesn't serve any purpose deeper than that.
