Psychiatry has made psychiatric medicines so accessible that literally everyone is being prescribed– including young children. Is that a suitable approach? Is that what we resort to ? Drugging the victim so they can escape their trauma, whereas their abusers run free. It's like digging another grave.

Don't get me wrong, Anti–depressants do help, but they should prescribed in an intricate and complicated process where the benefits outweigh the risks and side effects. It should truly be the last option. Simply prescribing drugs never seeks to find the solution. It is merely treating the symptoms rather than the cause. Have a partner that abuses you ? Take this drug, Being bullied and sexually assaulted in school? Pop a pill. It baffles me so much seeing the current state of psychiatry.

Children, whose brains haven't even been developed, shouldn't be prescribed these drugs unless there other options have been exhausted. Putting them on medication simply alters their brain levels and causes plethora of issues. It did, in my case, at least

Regardless of whether they make suicidal ideation worse or not, I'm just not a fan of psychiatric drugs in general. The only ones I find useful are ones that can help you sleep if in case you have sleeping problems.

As you've said, it's better to treat the root cause of the problem rather than the symptoms.

YES

I'm so sorry 😥

It's horrific to endure 😔

⚠️"Suicide / Ideation" — is listed as a serious "Side Effect" — of most Psychotropic medications

Also reported as such by Medical Authorities + Medical Literature

See — Expert Witness / Psychiatrist— Dr David Healy + RxISK — his websites based in Canada/ North America

sometimes. As an example, neuroleptics can cause a lot of suicidal ideations

Antidepressants don't work more than they do work and they're prescripted very irresponsibly. It's laughable that they are presented as the panacaea to being suicidal and even those who admit it doesn't work all the time don't provide any other solutions (yet still advocate for suicide prevention.) They didn't work for me and gave me a lot of side effects, including enhancing my depression. They also contribute to the idea that all suicidal ideation is irrational and that depression is a mental illness, when most of the time it is based in reality. It's a tragedy that life is so filled with pain and suffering and useless drugs are all that's available. What would really help is a drug which removed survival instincts to aid my ctb attempt.

there is studies that confirm that. Even in the box were the meds come in. It has a black box stating about dying thoughts. And after one leaves it the suicidal thoughts can become even stronger. That shit is poison i regret it everyday

I've had psychiatric drugs save my life, so I can't speak on this in my own experience. I was also an adult when I was given the meds and diagnosed with BPD, so I'm literally the 'best case scenario' within the psych med realm.

But my sibling ended up lapsing in memory in high school because they were taking an ANTIPSYCHOTIC at the age of 15. I remember at one time, a medicine for their ADHD caused them to drop and seize up in front of me, causing me to be exposed to that trauma (I think I was like 6 at the time).

People wonder why addiction is rampant in America, but this is exactly why: we want a quick fix to a festering issue, and so we prescribe the benzos and the oxys and the what-not. Then we gain more issues than benefits, so we make more meds to counteract, but we do not look at past mistakes.
