  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I cannot comprehend how people can have the opinion that suicide should be in any case prohibited. For me they are hypocrites. When life turns an everyday nightmare they would also contemplate suicide/ or just do it. People are forced to endanger other people/ or being permanently damaged without method guides. Even if the illness is not terminal they would ctb. In my opinion it just needs a certain amount of pain for someone to ctb. Every individual has his/her limits. That's just naturally.

In around 10 seconds almost anyone could be made to never want to stay alive for the rest of their lives.

Many prolifers have been shown to be hypocrites. So yes, I do believe they would turn.

Watching the documentary of 9/11 when the jumpers had to either face getting burned to death or committing suicide by jumping out the window. I'm pretty sure they didn't care what ideology they were in at the time other than wanting to escape their current situation at the time.

Yes. When they are age 80 or 90 immobile, when they need others to feed , bathe, turn them etc. then they will see the truth

Yes, we are all human and there is a limit to how much we can cope with. Severe suffering can push even the most resillient of people over the edge. This life holds unlimited potential for suffering. I think many pro lifers hold their views as they are fortunate enough to be in that position. The fact is that those who have not been suicidal will never be able to comprehend what it is like.

I've heard about therapists and life coaches that off themselves. I heard about a couple who were life coaches together and decided to end it.

Yes, anyone could get to a point they want to escape it all. Problem is there's a ton of people who have good shit happening. But probably a lot of people once they get really sick and old probably want to die; so for them it just takes a lot longer to want it.

Just looking at all the old people that take a bunch of meds says they don't want to die...that somehow their lives are better than death. I don't understand what they do behind closed doors that makes anything worth living.

Everyone I know isn't suicidal. Dead Poets Society movie made me think of suicide. I was super young. It came out in the early 90's. I don't remember it, but I remember feeling really bad afterwards.

For most of them it's a defence mechanism, if they have to acknowledge that life for some is not worth living or that things don't always get better the foundations of their worldview begin to crumble. Personally I would prefer to continue living but my body and mind have become a torture chamber and there's nothing I can do to fix it. Even before I lost my health I had to deal with plenty of things which many people would consider not worth living with. I was born with a deformity and a mild form of autism, I've never had real friends or relationships but I always had enough things I enjoyed to feel that life was worth living. However, chronic pain and medication induced anhedonia and insomnia have taken things over the threshold and life just isn't tolerable for me anymore. I never would have had the arrogance that pro-lifers do to tell people that they must carry on no matter the odds. People's right to self determination should be treated the same way as abortion, it's an individual choice and not for the rest of society to say how much someone should be forced to suffer.
