Discussion Do you think children should have a choice to CTB?

I'm just curious on people's opinions on this. Many people here have suffered in life, so they might have a different view on this than someone without trauma.
By "children" I mean generally both teens and kids under 13.
Feel free to debate on this post, since the answers I provided might be a bit limited.
The choice would be the childrens' choice, not the parents. Parents would not play a role in this.

sorry, but thats where i draw the line. i get that some children have very hard life, full of misery and suffering. but i think ctbting should be the last resort. when all options are exhausted. and to really exhaust those options you have to live, you have to try for some time. the child will grow up in this process, so he wont be a child anymore

and i also think that it shouldnt be an impulsive desicion. and, well, children and teens are quite impulsive, since their cerebral cortex has not yet been fully developed

maybe im just a bit biased but i had just as much of a reason to ctb as a minor as I do now, it was most certainly not the impulsive phase people make out every suicidal minor to be, seeing as here I am now turning 19 in 5 months still feeling the exact same but worse. I would say yes but not always so under certain circumstances, you can't vote for two options but i would also say if they're over 13 at the very least. i think anyone should have the choice to ctb if they're of sane mind, I don't personally think you should need to be middle aged and go through years of therapy and have exhausted every other option just to have "permission" to put a gun to your head. you don't need other peoples approval to ctb, its YOUR life. again this is probably biased but just wanted to get my thoughts out there

Ultimately depends on the rationality just like in adults case. If the child is terminally ill for example why would i say no

In fact, I believe that provided the decision is made rationally, they should be granted the right to choose CTB/euthanasia. If even children are showing suicidal tendencies, the problems they face on a long-term basis must be truly severe. I have never believed that suicidal thoughts arise purely from impulsive reactions to 'trivial matters'.
However, I do think a waiting period of up to six months could be established, and the procedure should only be carried out if applications are made continuously during that period.(If it involves assisted death.)
