Although I frequently have very bad nightmares, if I'm not too mentally overwhelmed I can sleep. I haven't been much of a sleeper either. Overthinking and being hyperconnected may also be a problem.

Do certain foods give anyone a bad night's sleep, complete with nightmares? Raw pork and beans straight out of the can and cashews nuts do it for me, although I have no physical allergy symptoms to them. There may be others, as I'm a very light and picky eater. I had no problems with the two examples I mentioned when I was younger.

I actually sleep pretty well. I wake up a lot but that's because I am always experiencing sleep paralysis or falling to my death in my dreams. They happen so often I become lucid and can just wake up if I don't enjoy the shadowy figure strangling me… I just know "oh this again - not real ~ eye roll".

I am always tired from overthinking or being hungover / not eating just generally being anxious all the time. Having the same arguments with myself every day/night trying to calm down is exhausting so I sleep like a baby when the sun starts to rise.

I have always been a terrible sleeper-very restless, light sleeper-but the last 20 yrs or so it's regularly insomnia now. I either go months having trouble falling to sleep but stay asleep or calm right to sleep but only sleep a few hours then awake the rest of the night. 😩 Right now I'm able to fall asleep (only with the help of sleep aides) but awake about 4 hrs later and can't fall back to sleep. I've also been having weird dreams that I wake up anxious from.
I know lack of sleep definitely not helping my desire to ctb!
