Had a friend who got really stressed about it— was always working on a will so they'd have it ready when they cbt'd. I personally never cared about any of the aftermath, though. Curious about what others think.

I only have sketchbooks, paper, pencils, erasers, a computer and video game consoles. Couldn't care less what happen to them. I will be dead, hopefully very very dead as in gone forever. Least of my concerns would be the physical things I had in life, if I have any sort of consciousness after dying, of course (please no).

Yes those things I'm very attached to and have probably saved me from being dead already but I know I can't go on anymore just to play videogames etc. They need to go to a good home

I take time about 1-2 year start selling my car, house, and a few designer bags. I don't have a will. Most of my cash already went to my parents and sisters. They need those money because they are mental ill. Now I only have my clothes and shoes in one luggage. Nothing to be worry in my empty apartment. Maybe your friend worry about people who they left behind. I want to make sure my family will be ok financially after I die.

No, to the point they are just possessions. Yes, because I expect nobody will be able to get rid of them due to sentimental attachment based off previous behaviour, and they will continue to be a terrible burden on my family. I would like to downsize, but I think it's the one thing I could do to draw negative attention to myself. I also wish that the usable things could be donated to people who would like them. I grew up almost exclusively wearing clothes from secondhand stores, but nobody else in my family is poor or could make use of any of the stuff except the books.

I do have a bunch of hobby stuff / collector's items and the general public doesn't want those. I regret that I won't be able to get rid of it for them. :/

Some things like books and dvds I won't miss, but I have this coin collection I'm quite attached to. I'd be pretty pissed (in the afterlife) if it was sold because I imagine it's worth quite a lot, if not just face value based on all the coins.

there are some things, like things i wrote, drawings, and some objects to which i am so attached that i feel them part of me .. and i feel that if i died , they would disappear with me, not materially but in the sense that they would lose the magic i feel for them … they can be thrown away .. i dont care .. they will be inside of me when i die :D

Its irrational(because I'll be dead anyway)but I wouldn't want them to read my old diary. I'm thinking of disposing it soon, even though I'm probably not going to disappear anytime soon.

I have(had) an extensive recorded music collection - thousands of records and CDs - that I'd amassed since childhood that I used to enjoy so much, both as a collection and to listen to. In preparation for ctb, I've just been leaving it out, bit by bit, on the street, and someone has been scavenging it so that's good. It was probably the thing in my life I had most sentimental attachment to, but I no longer feel such sentimentality.

I've also been recycling and discarding a lot of my possessions - furniture, clothing, appliances, books, etc. I used to feel some attachment to those things but not anymore, so just time to get rid of them, no matter what happens to me or what I decide to do. But I also feel like I have to be careful with my thinking, like, for instance, I still maintain insurance in case of fire or theft (it's only a few dollars a month) in case somehow my life magically changes and I do not ctb.

ETA: it feels like a lot of my discarding behavior is driven by some feeling to leave as little mess to clean up as possible

I've moved so much in my life that I have almost nothing to my name. Everything I own outside of extra clothes could fit on my person and in a backpack. I've also had so many financial struggles that almost every time I've owned something nice it's been up on ebay within a few months.

Not really. I am in the process of going through and organizing my possessions, destroying certain things, but I know that these actions are a paranoia as once I'm gone so will my concern for that stuff. That's part of the appeal of ctb - being done with all of that.

Only thing I care about is making sure all of the transitions are done smoothly like giving my sister the use of my money to pay off my student loans and pack me up.

Anything else I don't give a shit.

Do you have to pay student loans after you die? I mean they wouldn't make your sister take on your debt would they?

I actually did research on it. Government loans die with me. But I prepare for the worst in case for the first time in a million years the government decide to specifically hunt my dead body down for the money my sister can pay it off without affecting her.

I know I overthink a lot of shit.

Also if I don't have to pay the loans at least they can use my money for other things they need. As long as I make sure they can access my money.

Not at all. Then again, I don't have many responsibilities..if I had money (and a life lol), I'd be more inclined to sort out a will.

I used to care, but nowadays, I don't care as I don't have the capacity to care. Also, that it would be irrelevant after I'm dead because I will not be around to witness or experience it.

I don't care. Except I don't want any money going to a certain family member. I will explain that in my note. But I don't care enough to prevent it legally.

I don't care except for my cats. They would go to my mother and brother. My Movie and Videogames would probably be sold and my mother/brother get my money.

Don't have anything to leave after 31 years. My brother will get a payout from my work I think. And if I'm wrong about that his life's sorted anyway. I'm more worried about what people will say about me when I'm gone. I don't feel I can be honest about all the reasons I want to ctb without tearing apart my family.

I hate wasting resources, so I'd like to think my family members can make use of anything I leave behind. Clothes, furniture, electronics, etc. I don't have much personal attachment though. My computer wasn't cheap, so I plan on deleting all personal data and preparing it for anyone else who wants to use it. I have everything backed up on encrypted external hard drives in case I end up surviving my attempt. My data is more important to me than any of my physical possessions.
