Do people call you selfish?

A friend of mine said they thought people with depression behaved in a selfish and self centred way as they retreat into themselves.

They said they weren't saying depressed people were selfish just that that type of behaviour is part of the illness.

Has anyone said this to you? Do you think this is a common view? Would less people want to CTB if mental health were better understood? It really hurt me to hear them say that.

Yes !! I've been told that suicide and self-harm is selfish.

Me too, my father and his wife tell that i am selfish with my suicidal thoughts, What i thing is it might be true that i want leave them all because of my pain, is selfish, but they not have much interest to know me better and also they not have much interest talk about themselfs to me so i can know them better, they just want see me that i am alive more then talk to me, i feeling like animal in zoo because of that, so i think yes i could be selfish but they are definetly selfish too because they want me to stay alive but not want to talk to me friendly much. Just thinking all time, what is my purpose here on this world.

My friends call me selfish but understand them wanting me here just to be here for them is also selfish. Some have said it seems like I'm already gone as I've purposely pushed myself away from them. I mean at the end of the day sure, it's selfish, but who cares? You should always be selfish if it fixes a serious problem and for me the problem is existing as a whole.
