  • Hey Guest,

I don't see much empathy for suicidal people in this world. There are trolls or pro-lifers who mock us. For example under suicide related videos on the internet there is so much mockery and hatred. It is so disgusting how much human scum there is. I thought especially Teenagers make this. But I think even adults do that. I find that so disgusting. These people are rubbish and don't deserve to be called humans. For me they are in the same category as child predators.
Do you think many people do stuff like that? Do you think more people would show empathy for your story or would they make fun of you?

If you're looking in the wrong places online, you won't see a lot of compassion. There are a handful of loud, toxic people that go out of their way to spread hate online. Or the edgy assholes who will casually say "KYS" when arguing with someone in a chat. most of these people would never say anything so vile IRL.

One problem online is that people show compassion through offering suicide prevention resources in lieu of actual support or messages of sympathy. This is often encouraged or even forced by social media platforms.

People can be so cruel. This world does lack empathy towards suicidal people, you are right. I haven't witnessed people making fun of them exactly but I have seen people say awful things that are completely untrue such as suicide being cowardly (when it actually requires a lot of courage) and about being sent to some sort of hell, which there is absolutely no evidence of one even existing. For me the problem is the society that denies the right to die and insists that we must stay alive at all costs. That is cruel. There is still stigma towards suicide and we need a more compassionate and understanding society. Many people who have not been suicidal will never be able to comprehend what it is like.

I've heard people doing far worse so its not that much of a surprise to me. These people should remember that they are not immortal gods who are exempt from the possibility of their lives being fucked or dying.

I always found tough love as a subtle jab at suicidal people or even sarcastic remarks aimed to not offend the sensitivities of suicidal people. It's when us suicidal people remember the words that were said that day and cry about later because the lightbulb in our head didn't go off at the time that we were being made fun of.

I think about comments like go to hell losers, there was a Video of George Floyd on Pornhub with a disgusting description. Many people say the comments on gore Websites must be awful. I've read mockery about right to die activist Adam Maier Clayton under his videos.
Not all Prolifers are like that. But some of them really despise people who ctb out of religious reasons.
Moreover there are probably some trolls in this forum or people find it funny people killing themselves.

very true. it only depends on which side of the world you look upon. there are as many good and caring people as there are assholes. the world is neither good nor evil. it's subjective. you can decide with whom you interact.

I caught my mom and stepfather making fun of me being suicidal. I live with them now. I think my mother just doesn't want me to die at her house!

Yeah, I've not seen much sympathy for the suicidal. Fuck em, those who know what it's like, know. Those who ridicule and spite are just ignorant.

It's clear that there are very few people that are empathetic toward suicidal people. In most of the world's eyes we are pathetic, cowardly, a waste of space/resources, overdramatic, stupid, etc.

The internet is full of toxic people who allow their inherent toxicity to be amplified by the lack of real world connection being behind a screen gives.

So many times I have been belittled because of it. I don't expect people to understand if they've never been through it themselves, but they don't even manage to have the least bit of human decency. It's cruel and whether these people realize it or not, they are further endorcing our lack of will to live in this world.

I remember my first suicide attempt at age 10 was in June, and I didn't come back for the remainder of the school year because I was being pyschiatrically hospitalized for it. I hadn't told anybody, as this was still a time when not every kid was on the internet, but my peers found out anyway and it was very humiliating. I had one person quit being my friend, because it got back to her parents and her parents said I was "encouraging" it. Other things happened too, and kids can be so damn relentless. They knew part of my struggles and just didn't give a shit. It still stands out in my mind to this day. I'll never forget how terrible it felt. All my life, whether people knew about my struggles or not, they took advantage of it. Used it against me, told others, spread rumors, talked down to me because of it. I've had amazing people come into my life but it's hard when you also experience so much horribleness from other people in such a short time frame. I recieved a slap in the face that wasn't necessary at an extremely young age and I wish I didn't have to.

Anyway, I didn't mean to write an entire monologue, so thanks if you read all this... needless to say @noname223, I agree with your post, and I'm sorry you've had experience.

Yeah, if you're suicidal people will say you're "unhinged" "irresponsible" and that you want "the easy way out" or that you're "a coward"
Do they realize that they're part of the problem?

I hope they get to the point where their life really sucks just so they can understand.

I can relate to that. Kids/teenagers can be horrible monsters. I was bullied a lot in school because I was very overweight. This partly caused my illness. At home I was a victim of domestic violence. It was a disaster and now everything keeps getting worse. Life is so unfair.

I'm really sorry for those things. It seems you didn't get much peace anywhere, and you didn't deserve the hand you were dealt. Life is fucking unfair, I'm really sorry.
