  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

They can. I still get ideation because it's become an ingrained habit over decades. It happens far less often, and the thoughts weigh almost nothing.

I had to try a few before I found ones that work for me too.

Yes, they can help with ideation, depression and anxiety. You may need to try a few different kinds.
It is worth trying them even without therapy, though therapy alongside meds may be even more beneficial.
I take meds without therapy and they do help.

Medicine and therapy can both help a fair amount. Neither are magic, which is why doing both together is usually suggested. I don't think medicine is a perfect or amazing cure, but I still believe it's helpful enough to be on some. It does help my ideation.

1/3 third of people it improves their lives another 1/3 claim it doesn't do anything for them and another 1/3 claim it makes things worse sometimes like suicidal idealtion worse. Not everyone get the same symptoms if Prozac doesn't work then strerlaine and if that doesn't then you go on Lexapro. You can't knock it until you try. You should only judge it if it's working 4-6 weeks after on treatment onset is rather slow.

I think it varies. I've known people need to try different ones before settling on something that works. I only tried Fluoexetine (Prozac) and it did nothing for me.

I've also heard that ironically, they can sometimes work towards enabling suicide. As I understand it- not that they cause or increase suicidal ideation necessarily but, that they make a person clear headed enough to be able to act on their impulse.

I think you should maybe discuss the options with your GP.

I was on Lexapro and it made me feel like a zombie. Like my mood was just mid. Not exactly "happy" but not exactly "sad" either. I still had ideations while on it, so I decided to taper off and quit. The withdrawal from quitting made the ideations and my mood worse

I'm on 150mg of Zoloft, they want me on 200mg, its dampened all the bad and good feelings but I very much still get suicidal ideation and sometimes go as far as planning still, especially when things get rough like recently.
If I was able to obtain an immediate method to CTB I would very likely already be starting to get my last affairs in order.
