I'm planning to CTB by the end of this month, problem is I have online friends . And I was wondering if I should write a note, make an announcement, or leave them in the dark. I most definitely will be leaving a note for my family, but I'm wondering if I should for my friends. I don't want to write a note and end up surviving my attempt.

That depends on you but I think leaving some notes or scheduled e-mails behind always helps because you give your life some kind of proper "closure".

As for me, I'll leave notes, videos and some scheduled e-mails behind.

No hatred, no resentment. Just some lovely goodbye words explaining how happy I am with getting the hell out of this world!

You're probably right, it would be nice to at least give them some closure. I've been considering posting a twitlonger to my secret privated twitter account, for my closest friends to read. I'll be attempting late at night, but I will ask them to follow that account (not specifying why) and post the twitlonger, then I'll attempt when nobody is awake (so I can't be helped).

I personally was thinking of just dropping off the edge of the earth. I wish I could somehow schedule dms for all of them but since I can't, they will be left in the dark): I am going to leave a note for one of my irl friends with contact info of my online friends and say I'd appreciate if they reach out to let them know but I'm not sure she will.

I've considered doing that (giving a family member contact info of my online friends, but I can't trust that my online friends will stay quiet about what I was going through...)

Also speaking of scheduling dms...
FUN FACT: I once asked Discord about adding a message queuing feature for exactly this reason (except I didn't state my reasoning when I asked). I never got a reply back from them :/

That's my fear too! I don't want my death to be made public anywhere but I do want them to know why I'm not answering so it's not like I just ghosted them out of the blue for no reason. My only other social media platform I have is instagram(no photos or profile pic up currently) and I don't know why they can't let you schedule posts or stories):

I've thought of, and wanted to write notes or make an announcement about me offing myself... but then I realized that if I did that, I'd get major backlash from my "friends" and "fellow loved ones" if I got cold feet.

So I'd probably just disappear, but drop hints (before my disappearance) saying that "if you don't hear from me in months, I'm probably dead". Oh wait, then they'd ask why would I die, and put them in a constant worry and they might even consider parting ways with me just so their worrying stops.

Oh well, sudden disappearance it is then.

Disappear in silence. Your chapter in everyone's book of life is already written. Our last words won't change their memories of us or bring them closure. When they're ready to turn the page, they will.

Disappear in silence. Leaving a note or making an announcement won't give the recipients a closure. They'll just be left with more questions that will never be answered.

I'd just write a note, announcing it is a very bad move imo, it will cause more stress for you, and also on your friends, my advice, leave a note for your family, and go quietly into the night.

I think about this question a lot. All my friends are online, so I planned on making a scheduled tweet so they aren't left wondering where I went. I'd hate for them to worry.
