Hello I'm new here I was just wondering what your opinions are on this I've had a rough life it's a long story but I'll try to make it short and to the point I can't hold a job due to mental stuff I think I'm autistic I've already been diagnosed with severe bipolar depression plus ADHD I'm only 21 and I've had 26 jobs since the age of 15 I've dropped out of high school at 18 and pretty much went from job to job up until now I've decided I'm done with life I'm not gonna try anymore and I'm tired of leeching off my mom I bought a gun and plan to shoot myself but I plan to try and see if it's possible I can get approved for disability first I've heard here in the US it takes forever at least a year and you usually always get denied your 1st time so I'm gonna wait and see how that goes first do any of you think it would be possible I could get approved in my case why or why not sorry if this post isn't appropriate please let me know and I'll delete it

Well I expect you stand some chance of getting disability support if you have documents to show diagnosis of your issues. You can say the meds make it even harder to function on top of an already challenging situation. I'm guessing that's true.

I will say though, you might want to use some punctuation in future. Many people here won't respond well to posts that are one sentence paragraphs. I've seen it picked up on before now. It is pretty harsh on the eye in fairness. If its a side effect of your ADHD then I mean no disrespect. It's a heads up as much as anything else.

That would be helpful indeed, if at all possible.

As far as getting disability, it sounds like you stand a decent chance. There is a better than even chance that you will be turned down first. Then you'll, most likely, have to get one of those shyster lawyers, who are a dime a dozen, who will take a cut of the back, lump-sum disability money that you get awarded from the time you first signed up for it. And it will take, probably, more than a year. Is whether you live or die contingent upon whether you get SS disability?

The other question I have is how were you able to purchase a gun with your diagnosed conditions? Is it not a legally purchased gun? You don't have to answer if you don't want. I'm not LE or anything. I was just curious.

That's the thing I'm not on medication anymore. I refuse to take medication for any of it cause of the way it made me feel in the past. I was on all kinds of medication for years as a young child up until I was 16 then I just stopped. I believe I have it all on file I don't have any paperwork but it's on my file when I go to doctor.
I'll try my best with Grammar like I said I dropped out of high school for a reason I'm not very smart

Honestly I was just gonna contact a lawyer first and see what they recommend. My aunt told me I'd need to get into counseling first and explain to them my situation and gradually suggest after a few months of going there that I can't work and think it would be a good idea to look into disability. I'm not sure if that's the right move tho cause she said that they would have to approve of it and if they don't then I just wasted all of those months.
I was in counseling for years as a young child up until I was 16 so I'm pretty sure all that is on file too.
And tbh I'm not sure if background checks have access to your mental health history cause if they did I wouldn't of been allowed to purchase a gun.
That would be helpful indeed, if at all possible.

And I forgot to answer your other question yes if I don't get approved after my 2nd time I'm gonna do it I'm not gonna continue to work these shitty warehouse jobs and the other bs.
I've had enough of life as it is. I can't keep living off of my mom. I've failed at every aspect there is in life.

Gey a copu of your medical history from your doctor. Maybe consider asking for meds again on a trial basis so that your records say you're prescribed. You don't have to take them. Just fill the prescriptions long enough for the benefit of your claim. You can always stop them again and just say you gave it a hard try but can't tolerate them. You're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

First off though, consider your case as is. No embellishments. Take good look and see if it's really necessary to spin any yarns. You may qualify as is. Try speaking with an advisor somehow and go from there. You to have chance.

Good idea I'm gonna talk to my aunt about it and see what she says. I hope I'm able to get it I appreciate you giving me ideas for going about it.

Yes speaking from personal experience it is very hard for to government to approve you for disability. It's a shame because so many people are sick and the wait/process is a very big hassle. I've had friends that end up homeless because of it.

That's the thing I can't have it take more then 2 years without any income. My mom will loose her paitence and either tell me to get a job or get out. Like I said I'm gonna apply twice and if I don't get it the 2nd time I'll just end it. I'll make sure I keep you guys updated and if I decide to do it anyway I'll say goodbye if you'd like.

Do they not pay a reduced basic amount in the interim period whilst processing your claim? It would be sensible of them to have some requirements to even be able to start a claim as it would save them time processing claims that will never get agreed on and it would serve the claimants similarly. If a claim gets accepted for processing they could provide a low minimum wage type payment to keep a claimant alfloat during the process. I think that's how some countries in the EU do it. Obviously sensible doesn't mean fact. Just spitballing really but it's worth looking into and finding out what the actual process involves. A year long process with zero support seems like a system intentionally made to fail for many. It's quite inhumane as a government initiative. Not that I'm surprised.
