Help Directly asking doctors for nausea medication (Australia)

Is it possible for you to tell the doctor that you've had this drug for sickness before, and make a story about how it was the only real drug that ever helped? This shouldn't provide too much of a risk as it sounds like a genuine reason to use a drug.

I have on occasion convinced doctors to prescribe me medication on the basis that I've had it before after taking a drug from someone else. When I did this, it was true. Ever since then it has been on my file that I take this specific drug for a specific problem. Obviously, they'd have no way of knowing that I am telling them a fat lie.

Not in Aus, but you should be able to wing it by saying something like that and mentioning you sometimes suffer with whatever the medicine treats. for example, for meto, you could mention it was something that worked for migraines for you in the past.

That's perfect because I do legitimately suffer from migraines. (Have I had this before??)

You could say you're going on a cruise and meto helped in the past by preventing sea sickness . Don't see how that wouldn't work

Of course it's possible, but they will prescribe just normal Rx med to you.
I you tell them - "I have this several pain and in the past I took some morphine or fentanyl and it helped me a lot" - no, they will not prescribe it. There are certain limits.
In my case, I lied i took some meto in the past and it helped me - and I got it prescribed.
But you need to be well prepared what to say if doc questions you - about symptoms etc. not just "i took and it help" - they will ask about symptoms, how often it was, when it was, what dosage you took. The good advice is to tell them you want to have some because the symptoms are increasing + you dont want to take them daily/chronic, but just ad hoc
