Hello there. I've been curious because I'm kind of scared of what happens after you die, especially from suicide.

For those who don't know, near death experiences or NDE are experiences that happen while you're dead or dying.

Stories usually talk about a tunnel and unprecedented calm and quiet while some other report having seen spiritual or religious imagery.

I'm curious because while I didn't sign up to be here I'd like to know what I'm signing up for when I die.

Now surely we all die some day but some people into spirituality around me claim I will suffer eternally for my suicide, including my mom who's really into that kind of stuff.

What does anyone know about what happens after death? Nothing. It's all superstition. There's not one shred of evidence.

People see crazy things during near death experiences just the same way people see crazy things when they're on drugs. The body and brain go through some **** and as a result they are just seeing things they wouldn't normally see.

I've almost overdosed before. It was literally just like waking up from a nap except my entire body hurt, didn't see anything except for the edges of my vision involuntarily darkening as I was passing out.

I had an infection that spread to my kidneys. I'd been to that point in pain for days, even laying down was agony, with fevers over 100° F, nausea and a total lack of appetite, and simply no energy. I was so out of life force that I mustered to take a bath but realized in it that I didn't have the energy or strength to get out. I just couldn't. My first thought was I'll just… die like this. Just that; unembellished acceptance. I was past weakness. My mind was just… blank, calm white. This is how it ends, naked in the bath. I don't care anymore. Well, I'm a woman of modesty, so that changed, but I remember that total accepting mindset. It surprised me.

I can relate. It's a terrible feeling, even if I don't believe in this stuff it still hurts to hear.

When I was around 17y to 18y, I nearly died when I partially hanged myself just to know what it feels like, thankfully I was able to put my leg under me to get just enough blood flow to stand up and get my neck out of the rope, the feeling of almost passing out was nothing out of the ordinary. After that, I was anxious for not being more anxious, it would have been a very embarrassing and humiliating death for both me and my family but somehow it didn't bother me too much (briefly, I definitely want some dignity in my death). Some hours after, I freaked out a little for being so absurdly stupid.

For me at least, it was nothing too special.

I'll explain one of the times I had a nde . It was a euphoric feeling similar to a high of sorts... I saw a nebula of color and silhouettes of familiar people. It was warm and very welcoming...it made me cry after I realized what I had seen.
