Dependent on This Site

Is anyone else dependent/addicted to this site? I just experienced an error trying to reach the forum and for the past hour or so I have been on the verge of freaking out trying to get on it. Something about coming on here and seeing other people struggling makes me feel less alone, and now if I'm away from here too long I start to get terrified that I'm all alone in this. If this website was taken down or something, I would probably have a mental breakdown or just go completely berserk. Anyone else feel this way/thoughts?

Yes. This forum is the first thing I visit when I browse the Internet these days. No more news, reddit, or youtube. Just SS. Plus I really like this forum's software and features like reacts, chat, etc. I don't feel sad when I use this forum.

I could imagine if this site went down for good many would ctb because the only solice they have in "life" is being able to vent; to get their burdens of their chest on this site so the people who are making these DDOS attacks think they are doing good like any other pro-lifers when they might actually contribute to more suicides.

I use this site more than anything now. It is such a good place. It really helps me coming on here. Just looking at the threads and discussing things with people. It's a really good community. I have met many kind and helpful people on here.

Yes I am on it everyday. Sometimes I take a break a few days. It's like social media for me I have to check it and see what everyone is saying. It's been an amazing resource for me and I've met so many incredible people. Initially I just signed up to find a method but I have found so much more than that.

I've only just joined today, but I've been reading this site daily since December last year. I relate to everyone on this site so much. In real life, I'm scared to talk about my depression with anyone, cause I feel like I'd be a burden, and if I talk about depression on reddit, all I get are suicide hotline numbers thrown at me.

We all have varying causes for being here, but we're all here for one reason, and I find it comforting.

I totally agree with you on what you have just said.

There most likely would also be many more failed attempts because of lack of knowledge and that would lead to more suffering in the long run or a painfull death, like many in the firearms megathread don´t know about not putting a gun under the chin and back when I was 19 I only knew about 'lostallhope' and considered drop hanging I had calculated my bodyweight and all that so that method would probably had worked but that site don´t ever mention partial hanging which is much more peacefull.

This site has done me good. It feels like a wheelchair. Initially, it drowned me cause there was an overwhelming attention to think about suicide. But it also saved me when I was feeling the lowest. The contacts were valuable. It reignited my brain to think at something else than death. I wonder how it'll feel without. Guess lonely.

This site does go down a lot, try not to worry, but I understand it can send alarm bells ringing and frustration at not being able to get on as you constantly hit refresh!
This site Is one of the reasons im still here, the support has been amazing, im im struggling I just come on here and am able to distract, get advice, etc. And when im in an ok place im able to give my own input and so forth.
SS is amazing. The web wouldn't be the same without it

Kind of, yes. It certainly helps and I'd struggle without it.

yes ... Somewhat addicted to this site ... Specially now during this lockdown I spend more than 4 hrs on this site everyday ... Will surely freakout if it goes down . ... The site has not only given me my method but also helped me fight my impulse to ctb without proper research .

im new here but yes!! my computer is old and wonky and i got the blue screen of death twice yesterday and l had a pannic atack but then just thought- oh well if it crashes completely im gonna go to my babys grave and exit beside him..
