Hello, i wanted to ask if anybody here has ordered the debreather and also looked at the device? I know it is not recommended to open the bag before final use but i just had to have a look on it to know what is waiting for me. I have to say i am more than disappointed! It looks like a school boy construction which was fixed with TESA! So because of the heavy weight some of the soda lime granules came out and spreaded on my floor. I mean this is supposed to be an award-winning construction?! I know there was somebody on here who attempted to build his own device... but he seems to be around no longer? I really had high hopes in this device ... but also it seems to be quite complicated and i doubt it would really work. The masks are also shaped in a weird way... help..... what am i to do? I would be gratefult discuss this with others who have looked into this option... thank you! unfortunately richard doesnt respons atm

Apparently they're redesigning it at the moment but aren't able to acquire some of the pieces required for the updated version due to Covid. I hope that the improvements to the design help to make it less rickety and unintuitive... if it works as intended it should make for a much more peaceful exit than SN. I really, really am praying that it proves not to be a waste of time.

If you go to the R2D website and attempt to purchase it it'll redirect you to a page that states that it is currently unavailable due to design changes.

Thank you for your reply and your information. Did you get all of these answers on the site that is noted in the exit book? Because I tried to contact them by email, but no response from the site that sells Debreather. I hope that the device will be better in the future, I think like you that it is a better option than SN. But in case of failure the consequences on the brain could be more serious than SN?

This is the message that appears on their website.

And yes the brain damage portion is concerning if one were to be discovered by family ... although I'm guessing a vegetative state would be 'mentally' on par with death. You wouldn't be conscious to suffer anymore, but it would instead transfer the suffering onto those tasked with caring for you. :mmm:

Ok thank you for the image of the site. Yes of course it would be horrible for the family and our loved ones to find us in this state ... But only if they discover us quickly? Because I think that if no one discovers us for at least 8 hours, our state will simply be death and not a vegetative state, well I think

Are you able to post any pictures of it? Did it come with any instructions? Did you try on the mask?

I have one. If you go to respire site you can see it. On his other site are written instructions. There is also a slide show he gave that shows the old one. The new one per Phillip Nitchke has not been proven as working yet so he's waiting to get info on that.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a rebreather exactly? I know the scuba types does it work in a fashion like that?

I have one too for future use. Info on how it works can be found on the latest version of the pph and a few threads on this site.

Yes, even the second version is a scam. Cheap parts, doesn't do the job like it should. Don't waste your money.

Hi there. Here are some reviews on the revised version and it doesn't seem promising:

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/this-is-how-it-will-be-to-die-of-r2d-rebreather-ii.66098/

You'll also find a lot of other results when you use the search function if you'd like to find out more about the R2D Rebreather.

You're welcome.

I really can't say with any certainty but judging by how active she was on SS: starting her own numerous threads, often interacting with other users, it really looks like she succeeded in ctb. I mean to be so active for so long, then to take SN one day and record her symptoms, only to suddenly never return again for no reason seems highly unlikely.

If you read her last words on her last SN thread, it seems she was feeling very hot and very afraid. And even if she was saved in time, would it take her that long to recover and log back into her account?

SN poisoning can be easily reversed if the person is found in time and you won't need to spend many weeks in hospital, especially someone as young as she was. She also had a previous SN thread where she didn't follow through and immediately apologised to everyone. She seemed like a good person who wouldn't just abandon her SS friends like that.

So for her to never return again seems rather peculiar. Either that or she's too embaressed to return this time round. What's strange though is that someone logged into her account about a (month?) later. Could've been a family member, police, who knows. So it's a bit of a mystery.

Can you advise where to buy this? I been waiting for the debreather since 2019 or so when I first heard of it. Didn't know it was already available to purchase. Also, did you encounter any issues with customs? Due to the type of purpose for this device. Thanks so much

I always wondered why Avocet was so prompt in his responses to my inquiries… because he wanted to ensure I lined his pockets buying his dud of a device. :ohh:

The sad part is that in theory, a rebreather *should* work, as a couple of former users have already demonstrated by building their own DIY versions which actually appeared to have been successful.

I'm not remotely handy though, so I can't follow TrailerTrash's guide to construct one… I wonder if any members on here could get away with selling ones they've manually built without any legal repercussions. I'd certainly buy from them over settling for Avocet's junk, to say the least.

Hmmm, now that's something that I haven't thought of. It would be great if someone on SS could construct a more superior rebreather than Avocet's joke of a product. I wonder if there'd be any legal loopholes in order for them to sell it. Not only can they make a living from it, but they'd help so many suffering people to die peacefully. In saying that, I don't think it should be made available to just anyone. For instance, it wouldn't be good for business if a 10-year old got hold of it and killed themselves that way.

Do you think we could start a thread here and challenge someone to make a better version? :pfff: It would probably be against the rules. Unless you know someone who constructed a good one and PM them? *Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.*

I did message a few people on here that constructed functioning versions (tested with pulse oximeter and experienced no respiratory distress), but they deleted their accounts shortly afterward, so I assume they were "effective", if you catch my drift.

One guy told me he made a functioning version but that he couldn't tell me what the sources were for the products he bought to construct it from because then he'd feel guilt over potentially aiding in the suicide of another person, which is a reason I could respect, but it was still a huge letdown for me at the time. He was also paranoid about the government tracking his activity on SS or something? His account was deleted two or so weeks after our initial convo, so I can only imagine that he went on to CTB with his non-inferior rebreather, or just became too paranoid that usage of this site could possibly incriminate him…

Here's the response I received: 0CCB6FC7 8B2D 4C52 B937 C32852275B5A

Oh okay, so their deleted accounts potentially meant they finally ended their suffering.

I can understand that the guy you spoke to was worried in aiding people to ctb. I'd be worried too but at the same time, if I had the means, I'd want to help people who are experiencing unbearable suffering. I think it's barbaric to force people to suffer against their will. So much for this "enlightened" 21st century that we find ourselves in.

There must be some legal loopholes. How do Avocet and Nitschke get around it? How is Avocet able to tout his fake rebreather toy thingie? I refuse to call his rubbish "invention" by its proper name.
