Thinking about this method. Not considering per se, just wondering how that would work.

I have lidocaine ampules on me and numbing gel. Say, if I numb myself properly with injections and slice my arm(s) deeply, how long do you think it will take me to die? How uncomfortable would it be?

I guess that would depend on whether or not I hit major veins.

I could take some sedatives and painkillers, maybe even AEs to make myself more comfortable.

It would take probably 5 to 10 minutes max if you are on sedatives you probably wouldn´t feel much just the blood flowing
With numbing cream you wouldn´t feel the cut, I use it when I get tattoos and it doesn´t feel a thing for 30 minutes

Read in "Suicide and attempted suicide" by Geo Stone about a surgeon who injected local anesthesia into their leg and sliced the femoral artery. Stone says it would likely be painless and quick. From experience it's better to aim for the arteries as it could take a long time bleeding out from the veins, however it's pretty difficult. The closest arteries are radial near the wrist along the long bones but in my attempt I couldn't get to them despite cutting pretty deep. I also had been taking aspirin for a week prior to thin out the blood, it helps to stop the blood from coagulation
When artery is severed it can take only a couple minutes to lose consciousness and about 30 minutes to die iirc

Interesting. Thanks for the info! I think cutting will be a bit different since it should theoretically go deeper than the needles from a tattoo machine, right?

How much aspirin were you taking, if you don't mind me asking?

I was taking 3 pills a day and it worked for me. Shouldn't take too much as it can cause internal bleeding (that's most likely not gonna be fatal)

Your welcome, I think it works for deep cuts too because I went to the hospital a couple years ago to reopen a wound and they just put numbing cream on me and sliced away, but I dont know If its the same numbing cream I use for tattoos, probably isn´t.
Glad I could help though

I see. I think injections will still be quite helpful, to foolproof the method and make sure I don't feel a thing either way :)

Yes Its probably the best to rely on injections instead of just numbing cream just to play it safe :)

It is a misconception most people have that wrist cutting to die is easy like in the movies. You can google wrist cutting, there are many research papers online on it. And most people end up surviving.

The main arteries run close to the bone so you'll have to cut super super deep to hit them. The body also has a self protection mechanism that will kick in to create blood clotting to reduce the blood flow. Also, many people will start to freak out with the pain and blood gore. There's 4.5 to 5.5 L of blood in an adult body, will take at least 40-60% loss to die. Not easy this method.

if you sever the carotid artery or the femoral artery (these are two of the major arteries that carry shit tons of blood), I've read you can lose up to 1 liter of blood per minute, and your body only has around 5 liters. Thus doing the math I give an estimate of 5 minutes or less

Blood coagulates quickly. I guess it's possible but this is really hard to pull off.
There are ways to counteract the coagulation: taking something like aspirin in advance and keeping the wounds under water, or shower head ideally, alcohol also helps
But it's true that it's very difficult to pull off. I've tried a few times at this point

This isn't a great method, the survival rate is really high, but it works with the right prep. If i were to go out this way, i would slice my legs instead. I feel like it might be a bit easier to get an artery.

A friend of mine who is in the military told me that a person bleeds out in about 20 minutes.
There is only one problem.
This time period only applies to people with wounds inflicted by "specialists" in killing, using firearms or military knives. However, here we are talking about "home" vein slitting, which usually fails. Why? First of all, you need to know where and how to cut to reach the artery. In addition, the loss of blood makes us unconscious. So what? As you know, our body will naturally fight for us to survive. Therefore, usually before there is enough blood loss, these wounds will congeal and the blood will stop flowing. And if you are unconcious, you can't repeat the process, in order to made blood flow again. This is why ctb attempts in the form of vein slitting have such a low rate of success. It is possible to successfully ctb using this method? Yeah. It also the "safest", bc you are not risking brain or any other organ damage. But is it a reliable ctb method? Definitely not.

I cut my neck to die. I failed to stop the bleeding. The knife was not sharp. It is not a good method. The overview of this site will show you that people commonly use SN

Not many have recommended this method, but there are successful suicides. I know one case that managed to cut his wrist.

I have a third option to drink 70% absinthe as an anesthetic and take a shower or bath to cut the femoral artery and wrist artery.

But the number 1 way is helium and the number 2 way is carbon monoxide

I've heard of someone successfully slitting their artery from a coworker, it was his neighbor. That gave me a boost of confidence that I might succeed as well but alas

The worst part of that is definitely the cut part. That you can cut deep enough.

Those who have lost consciousness from blood loss that before fainting comes terrible coldness and fatigue.

I myself have felt it after leg surgery in the hospital. Even though it was a hot summer day, I was shivering under the blanket from the cold.
