  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I wonder about that too. I've tried to ctb so many times with so many different methods in so many places, still failed every time. I know from my own experience that music helps and someone said that turning off lights helped them (making the room pitch black so your body relaxes because it can't see anything, kinda like with birds when you put a blanket on them).

Maybe I should become a necromancer and find out? That reminds me that I need to make a new D3 season character...

I think that many of the people who managed to overcome SI were completely desperate to escape their lives and the pain of living got to be unbearable. Of course suicide is very difficult as we are all programmed to survive, the survival instinct can be very frustrating. More than anything I wish that ctb was easier, all that I want is to peacefully pass away in my sleep without having to go through the process of ctb.

Generally engaging in risk-taking behaviours can drastically reduce your survival instinct. Do some hard drugs, fuck a couple dozen strangers, go for midnight strolls in dodgy alleyways, pick a couple of bar fights. If your life means sweet fuck all to you, these may be easy things for you to do, and even enjoyable. After all, if you want your life to end, there's no reason to care about messing it up?

If someone who did ctb actually came back to tell us ANYTHING, I'd have to pause for a bit and rethink everything I believe about there being nothing after I cash out. Please, please, please.........no one come back. I can't handle that.

Don't worry, there's indeed nothing. It's like sleep, just without dreams and nightmares.

And YOU, personally, know this HOW? There used to be an old commercial for Wendy's restaurants with an old woman standing at the counter in a competitor's restaurant asking them, "Where's the beef"? Along the same vein, I ask, "Where's your PROOF"?

This is how I look at this SI thing—totally not based on science. And from a moderately risk-averse type. It's like jumping into a freezing lake in January (which I've done—once), you swear a bunch and just go. Because you can talk yourself out of just about anything…

I think I'd only be able to do it in a moment of absolute despair. I've had moments like that in my life, but all the ordeal and "ritual" I would have to undergo to be able to CTB with SN would eventually dispel that feeling of despair, and soon the SV would kick in again...

I make a distinction between clinical death and actual death. Anecdotes from clinical death are not proof to me.

I mean I'm pretty sure the fact that we were non-existent for billions of years before our birth proves that fact without a shadow of a doubt? lol. The truth is hard for a lot of people to swallow but I'm one of those that finds it very freeing.

This is really weird. How can an SS member, with a line through their name, respond to one of my posts? Maybe someone did come back?

Thankfully, they don´t comeback! But there are a lot of suicide statistics which could give some hints. If you are male the chances are better, as about 75% of successful suicides were males. Being old seems to be helpful too, because the suicide rate increases with the age. Alcoholism and permanent daylight are also good preconditions, mindful of the fact that Greenland has the highest suicide rate in the world.

I reckon the fear of living has to outweigh the fear of dying
I also get the impression that if you have a terminal ilness its a lot easier.

The problem is - it varies. I've recently read a story of someone who effed themselves only after 16 years of constant cruel physical pain. That's crazy, how can someone keep waiting for so long? I've been living in a chronic pain for like a year and I already think I'm overstaying my presence.

Apparently by not being sure it would work. I probably didn't think I had more than about a 50-50 chance of dying when I killed myself.

Now I've got a more than 99% reliable method, I'm far more hesitant, and I can't work out what's holding me back.

Do you remember BEFORE being conscious, in the year, say, 3457 BC? If you can't, then surely one must assume that's what it's like after your consciousness has gone.

2.5 years, and I'm almost done! An old friend has offered me a job cleaning an office with no stairs for one hour a day, which I'll be starting soon. I'm not confident, and if it turns out I can't cope with it, I'm CTBing pretty soon after - after a few months of daily 160mg Oxy, 5mg Xan, Dominos pizza and ice cream, until all the money is gone.
Don't worry, there's indeed nothing. It's like sleep, just without dreams and nightmares.
