I hear a lot of people talk about thier 'inner child' and all the things they do to 'keep their inner child alive' But I don't know. I don't really understand it.
Being a child sucks. You're bound to the often cruel and arbitrary whims of the adults around you, everything runs on a schedule, you don't get any say in what happens to you. Everything is controlled, from where you stay at night to what you eat for dinner. The world is scary and hard to understand and often unfair.
Maybe it's because my parents were kinda shitty, or maybe it's just that I never really had the same childhood innocence that my peers did but I don't feel like I have an inner child. I don't even understand what that's supposed to mean.
