So basically you own the device but the site wont ship it to you. You get a link to Rpbot Express, a scammy reshipping firm, and then they quote you a price to get it to you.

Fwiw I dont for a second believe there is a US company making this, and I am not keen to send Exit my money for something sitting FOB in Romania where it costs me another x-amount to get it to me. Fucking stupid if you ask me.

How could it be a scam if they don't let you complete the payment? That has no sense.

I got no acknowledgment that my details were sent, but that doesn't mean they weren't. Maybe some dirty shit has got my bank card details right now and is going to rob me. Trust me it looks dodgy as fuck

There was no option to pay by CC for the device. The shipping through Robot Express took my CC but nothing happened and no confirmation email either.

Yes this is exactly my same experience, but did you get a confirmation that your details were sent to the shipping company?

I didn't get any confirmation. it just loaded for 2 seconds and then nothing happened
Exit reports it won't be available for sale till February

in the PPH update email I received it said 'The DeBreather is available now - direct from the manufacturer in the US.'

so how do you explain that?

Thank you.
i'm beginning to think that's a spoof
The debreather is not a spoof. You can even make your own. They are used for high altitude training, with material costs at less than $200.

Yep as mentioned is basically a scubadiving enclosed custom tank for scrubbing the co2 and replenishing oxygen. The debreather is just the same principal apart from it doesn't add new oxygen it just recycles your own air scrubbed of co2 so you don't get the feeling of suffocation and just gradually run out of oxygen and just breath in the remaining nitrogen. From the original air you breathe into it and pass and and go. Basically it turns itself into a nitrogen only exit mask. Just without having to but tanks of nitrogen and all the bags and stuff. If you had the cash you could buy a scuba closed breather for abound £1000+ and just close the oxygen alarm and hole up where the O tank would go. They are making a bare bones rip of of this and if it's cheaper I'm all for it. But it isn't beyond a semi competent DIY person to make something similar

Edits because auto correct actively tried to make me sound like a complete idiot. I should stop using my damn phone to type.ok rant over

How long does it take for hypoxic brain damage to occur? Is it possible that irreversible damage could have already happened to you before the device succeeds at rendering you unconscious? I remember reading on a random medical website that 3 minutes without air would be enough to cause irreversible brain damage, but it takes 3-7 minutes of being conscious while using the Rebreather before passing out. Does that mean that even if you decide not to follow through with it, if you've been breathing through the 'closed loop' for that specific amount of time that your brain would already be screwed? I had always been under the impression that the real damage started once consciousness was lost.
