People often ask about cutting and overdosing, but this has such a low success rate that it can't even be considered a ctb method.

This just results in people surviving with injuries that can be difficult to heal.

There is a thread about ctb methods.

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/suicide-resource-compilation.3/

I think even more important than that is a thread about what are NOT ctb method.

I think it depends on where you cut and what you OD on. Although I do agree with you that both have a low success rate. And cutting, I would think, would be a miserable way to die, even if you were able to sever an artery. I've heard that ODing on fentanyl could be a good death. I don't know since I've never tried it. Most "normal" medications won't get you there, though. Certainly, there are better methods, but desperate people do resort to any method at hand.

Anything otc to overdose on certainly isn't recommended for ctb, as the reality is that suicide isn't that straightforward, if people could easily ctb on over the counter medication then it would soon be restricted as this society is so anti suicide and of course cutting is a self harm method rather than a suicide one.
I hate how difficult it is to die in this world, I think that people likely resort to these unreliable methods that don't work due to lack of method knowledge and desperation.
