How much pressure or how deep would the cut need to be for it to cut a vein?
I'm just curious

hmmm to cut a vein i usually need go layer 3 or more decently strong cuts ontop of each other to reach it.
be warned cutting a vein hurts a lot and sends a dull pain inside ur arm and up the vein.

to be honest i tryed this method a couple of months ago and FAILED bigtime , i have ended up damaging my tendons and i have limited grip in my hands now . i also wrecked nerves in my hand so the left hand is numb now all the time , i did cut very DEEP and still i did not manage to cut a artery enough to bleed out , i did bleed for 2 hours before the cops found me in my truck and well end result a few days in hospital and now im watched all the time incase i try again .trust me if u feeel pain with ltittle cuts U WILL not manage to cut deep enough to do any damage , i went cut through scars from a operation on my arm from years ago and what i thought was a artery was tendon ,hence the reason i fuked my hand . after research i found that only 4% of people that cut their wrists die from bleeding out , trsut me look for a better option if things have got that bad cutting dont WORK !

Veins are the blue lines you can see on yourself. Some of them are quite close to the surface.

If you are trying to kill yourself with cutting veins, it does not work. Veins bleed very slowly and will clot off (stop bleeding) long before you would die.

If you are doing this for self harm, I encourage you to find something else. Even though veins are close to the surface, you can still cut something important trying to get to them. This can lead to severe tissue damage and potential loss of finger/hand use. Please be very careful with where you choose to cut.

Cutting is not recommended because it rarely works. However, I have the means for it here at home. My kitchen knives are dull and I have no self-defense or hobby knives but I have razors. They're little shavette blades, not much to grab but quite sharp.

Do y'all think I have any chance of dragging one across my carotid in the hot tub? I feel em right there punching up into the skin.

I'd probably survive with an embarrassing scar.

I think I'm gonna go for it. I have a hot tub that can help with the cold sensation of bleeding out. Just push and rip.

[I will probably puss out.]

Veins suck, arteries blow. What you want for suicide is an artery.

If you mean to CTB, I was told that a vein is unreliable if you actually want to bleed out. I've cut a vein or two before, but I clot and heal pretty fast due to some of my autoimmune disorders. I've also burst a vein before from a blood pressure spike, and multiple times during IV placements.

You'd have to find a way to sever it completely and then hope your body couldn't accommodate. It's unlikely to work out.

Please read all the messages in this thread before attempting. Seriously, even if you manage to hit something, you'll almost certainly survive.
