It better not be full of smoke. It it is the OP isn't doing it right and needs to stop IMMEDIATELY. Anyone using this method needs to get the charcoals burning first on the OUTSIDE of any enclosure until the coals are burning red/white glowing hot and producing NO SMOKE, or nearly no smoke. Remember CO is COLORLESS and ODORLESS. It's INVISIBLE. Smoke is NOT CO. Smoke is impurities burning off. Once the coals get hot enough, the heat will, basically, incinerate any inpurities and the smoke will stop. When the smoke stops, that's when the coals should be moved into the enclosure, and then some time should be allowed for the invisible CO gas to build up in the enclosure before even getting in to it.
