Discussion Ctbing in a way to preserve organs for donations?

Just wondering, watched that will smith movie.
Im just wondering if its possible, i feel like alot of people would benefit from knowing their final wish helped others live their lives. Would probably remove alot of the anxiety

I think organs have to be harvested very quicky for them to be healthy enough for donation. I really admire and respect your desire to help someone else.

have been thinking about this too. sorry, but i came to the conclusion it is imposible to donate your organs. the organs have to be harvested very quickly. and if paramedics arrive in time to harvest them, they wont do it, but attempt to save you

if your organs are still alive and suitable for donation, that means you are still alive as well and can be resuscitated

I'd like to donate my organs too but it's sadly impossible with my method (SN)

Organ donations are taken from living bodies. If you have no heartbeat and are not breathing when paramedics get to you, you are "dead" and ineligible for organ donation (at least in the US). The only way to pull this off would be to use a method that leaves you a vegetable on life support.

I guess shooting yourself into your brain stem near a hospital right after you called the emergency services might be the only viable option that guarantees that your organs will be usable
